Hi Ellie thank you for your reply I have felt so poorly this week on gem carbo it's caused me such a bad upset tummy then no energy and weakness been in bed all week and now day 8 top up tomorrow I've got no idea why I have this. Onco told me it was much kinder than FEC T so I was pleased and never asked enough questions.

I had my first gem carbo chemo on Friday, my oncologist said it was much more kinder than FEC-T that I had last year. But I've woke up today and feel so ill. Can anyone else advise what it's like to be on this chemo please and how long do SE last for X

Thank you Nicki for your help, I feel a sigh of relief. I've been frightened to look on the insurance documents feel stressed out enough with diagnosis. Yes I've been on the secondary BC forum over the weekend and I feel that I'm not on my own now at least. I found this site so helpful last year when I was going through it for my primary BC, never thought I would be back on here so soon. Mine is triple negative but I start my treatment plan of "gem" or is it "gen carbo" chemo on Friday xxx

We are due to go on holiday in February all insurance is paid having declared my primary BC I found out last week that I now have liver Mets. I start chemo this Friday and have been advised to obviously cancel our holiday as it will be in between chemo one and two. My oncologist said she would write me a letter to insurance. But will we get all our money returned as its stil BC related even though I never knew that I had this. Please help !!

I felt so poorly on FEC-T . did you lose your hair with gem carbo? My oncologist said i shouldn't totally lose my hair but it might just thin out. My hair has taken 8 months to come back after FEC T

Hi Tina I have also just been diagnosed with secondary bc its in my liver now. I was only diagnosed last Monday 4th Janusry 2016 after spending Xmas/new year in hospital. I only finished my BC treatment in August. Like you I am absolutely petrified xx

I have just been diagnosed on 4th January 2016 with liver mets well I think that's what it's called. I only finished all my treatment for triple neg BC in July 2015. Had left mastectomy, chemo and rads. I found this site a great help first time round. I've been too scared to look on here since my diagnosis last week. I am devastated that it has come back and so soon but then we are all feeling the same Why me !!! This week I have been given my treatment plan and I start gem carbo chemo next Friday advice and support desperately needed please x

Yes I'm also suffering with breathlessness I didn't know this was yet another side effect of T and like others I am still not feeling well and my final chemo is on Tuesday. These T symptoms last the whole three weeks my legs feel so weak

So pleased I'm not on my own. how can people say you look well when we are going through this. I feel and I know I look awful. I had the nurse come in on Saturday to give me those GCSF injections, I felt so ill and she seen me in bed. She said you have gained weight I will have to put it in your notes that you are obese. i know I have gained weight and I was feeling low as it was without this comment. As if we aren't going through enough. I had a damn good cry to my hubby yesterday. You can read all the comments about T but nothing prepares you for this. Natalie, lankylass and Jan yes roll on summer. That's all that's keeping me going at the moment. One more to go and then we can enjoy our summer. sending big hugs to all xx

Morning lanky lass a nurse when I was in hospital last week told me that quinine was good for restless legs because I get that a lot you can get it in a tablet form or its also found in schweppes tonic water it's worth a try. I have to go to bed when mine start I just can't stop them throbbing. I was told at chemo on Tuesday I have my pick line out on the day of my last chemo in three weeks. Must admit it will be nice to get at least one arm back to normal. Big Hugs to all of us xx

I spent six days in hospital with neutrapaenia my oncologist has reduced my next dose by 20% to hopefully ease side effects.. Still felt very tired this week and seem to get out of breath very easily even a very slow walk upstairs. Natalie hope this one is kinder for you as it's been reduced let me know xx My number 5 docetaxol is on Tuesday I dread it
