Hello there I am not sure if I can reassure you but I can certainly empathise with your feelings which might be helpful if you know others feel the same as you, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in February 2015. I had eight sessions of chemo after that I had a lumpectomy and month of radiotherapy. I have had my firs mammogram giving me an all clear with the caveat that because I have dense breasts I have to be vigilant. I saw the surgeon as a routine check up six months after my lumpectomy (2 was ago).. As a result of this she has requested an ultrasound scans because of thickening in the upper right quadrant area as well as under the arm. It can be due to scar tissue. With exactly the same feelings and concerns as you I want to reassure you, you are not paranoid we all go through the same anxiety regarding fibroses lumps and/or pain. Hoping everything goes okay on Tuesday. Let us know how you get on. My scan is on Friday! Never ever feel worried about being paranoid. You've been through a lot and it's normal to be anxious X

Hello. I'm really, really struggling- am on 2nd session of Docetaxal, having been ok with the FEC part of FEC-T Is it normal for several days after 'T' to feel dwarfed by flu pains. Thx x

Hi Maryland. Thanks also for taking time to respond. Everything you suggest makes sense s I learn more about this switch to Tax from FEC. I'm going to avoid skimping on paracetamol and ibuprofen and I agree I need to be ahead of the pain and proactive with pain killers. 3rd night not much sleep. Well done for getting through this. I'm not normally a "struggler" but am struggling right now. I'm hoping for some gradual adjustment in time for next cycle. Many thanks x x take care

Hi Ash66 Thanks for taking time to respond.I am allowed to do as you suggest with paracetamol & ibuprofen. But I am also in 5 day injections riots of filgrastim. I'm awoken by pain. No fever just an intense throbbing/soreness in legs, arms, back, headache chest area- feeling like proper influenza. I'm not normally a wimp but this has knocked me flat out. Thx for the tip re warm bath and reference to post-docetaxyl med for pins & needles. Appreciated x I'm thinking of you and hoping you're progressing ok after your chemo. Barbara

Hi I've just finished 4 x FEC and started docetaxel. Haven't been able to sleep much. Body very sore and achy. Quite painful limbs. Please does anyone have any tips to deal with this. Also got tingles Use pins and needles in feet. Thanks so much. Barbara

Hi Jinny No tamoxifen!! My tumour is not responsive to Oestrogen, Progesterone or HER 2 so I'm diagnosed with triple negative and chemo then surgery is only treatment. That's why I joined these threads. My chemo preceded surgery as it is systemic and mops up stray cells in the rest of my body. Barbara x

Hello Gilly Thank you so very much for your post/response. I think the chemo has affected my self esteem but getting there. I am so pleased to hear that you are 3 years on with NED - well done for what you have been through. What you said about chemo going through the body makes absolute sense. I think the 100% bit is an ideal - but pre-surgery only this applies too, cos I think surgery will mop up the rest of the tumour. I hello. I am half way through my 8 cycles of chemo. First 4 were FEC and next the T. My ultrasound showed a 75% reduction in tumour size. Sounds good but apparently the ideal for survival is 100% complete response to chemo. I wondered if anyone had any info from their treatment team on this. Mant thanks x

I have just watched it, on my own. It was raw, challenging and yes close to home - but I feel it's helped me. I'm worried too. In fact I'm realising this whole cancer thing is sinking in drip by drip.

I've just joined the site and you ladies are so brave. I'm 54 next month- diagnosis TNBC, grade 3, size 35mm x 27mm nodes removed Just started chemo - FEC-T x 8 cycles. It's very hard isn't it? Just kind of not knowing what teats will reveal and prognosis etc. but sharing worries and feelings is good! Wishing you well x

You'll be fine. Just keep washing your hands - that's how most viruses are spread. No experience of that spray but can vouch for Berrocca fizzy vit combo. I still find it hard after just over 24 hrs to say "I have cancer". I guess that is fairly normal. So weird.

Hi there. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis but well done for your positive approach. I was diagnosed yesterday on the strength of a mammogram and ultrasound. Had a biopsy and results next week will determine grade of cancer. Basically even before biopsy they strongly believe the 3cm mass I have is malignant. So much so they've spoken re options. I am 53 Do you kind of feel weird thinking "I have cancer" - I do!
