Morning, has anyone had whole brain radiotherapy who can maybe give me a little advice. I had 10 sessions the last one being on 29th September. I am still struggling with extreme fatigue, blurred eyesight, fuzzy head and just don't feel like I am functioning at all. I am starting to worry that it isn't side effects now and actual symptoms from the brain mets so just wondering if anyone can say if this all sounds normal. I was due to start Capecitabine chemo today for lung/nodes/liver (almost full house!) but oncologist put on hold until I feel better as luckily there was no change here since diagnosis scan in August. I have 2 children to care for and finding it all too much at the moment mentally as well as physically and hate the pressure I am putting on my husband.

Hi Pippie I know your post is a few month old but I was told on Monday that I have a tumour behind my eye and the eye doctor said he's almost certain it is breast cancer mets. That's all he would tell me and said my oncologist would be in touch. I know she has his letter but I'm still waiting for a call! I'm getting myself stressed as I NEED to know what happens now but no one is telling me. I was only dx with primary Feb 15 and am not even a year from end of treatment. I hope you are doing well xxx

Hi girls please may I join your group. I had WLE and SNB on 12th March (grade 3 stage 2a) and I am currently waiting to see oncologist and for a date to start chemo but I "hope" it to be this month. I am struggling with the waiting and I really need to know my plan of attack. Thankfully kids are currently occupying my mind while they are on school holidays. I tried antihistamine yesterday but unfortunately didn't work. Cake and cocktails do sound nice, may send hubby to shop and indulge once kids are in bed. It is Saturday night after all. As for snivels I think they would only make me look worse ha ha. Judith xx

Thank you ladies for your replies. The swelling has gone down from this morning so hoping it's going to be ok. If it gets any worse I will go to out of hours if not I will get checked first thing Monday once GP is open. I am hoping it is maybe just stress related as I am starting to worry about full results on Friday xx

I had my surgery last Thursday 12th WLE and SNB and yesterday my eye and face on the same side started to swell. I am now resembling the Elephant Man and wondered if anyone else has had similar and it is somehow connected or something totally different. Any advice?

Hi I didn't want to read and run as I am also 39 with no family history. I was diagnosed on 27th Feb with grade 3 invasive ductal. Don't know if it has spread to my lymp nodes, scan looked clear but they will remove some when I have my lumpectomy on Thursday. Take care xxc

Thank you all. I have my surgery on 12th March and hopefully I will know the full story of exactly whats needed on 27th March so a few weeks of worry. Your advice and positivity has made me feel a little better but I think I need to get my head around chemo as if it is recommended I will take it. I have 2 children (11 & 9) and I need to stick around alot longer yet so anything to stop the horrible little critter returnng!

My BCN visited me yesterday following my diagnosis on Friday. I must have completely switched off after the consultant mentioned cancer and just heard what I wanted. I did have mam with me but I think she was worse than me. I had convinced myself that as my lump is only 12mm and the scans had shown clear lymph nodes that following lumpectomy and node biopsy and maybe radiotherapy that would be it. However she hit me yesterday with the fact I will probably be recommended chemo due to my cancer being grade 3 and they class me as young (39). Any advice appreciated as the thought if chemo has me terrified. Judith xxx

Hi Gules, I was diagnosed on Friday and I have my op on 12th March. I will be having lumpectomy and 2 nodes removed as you did. The surgeon said on Friday he didn't think it had spread to nodes but was taking them to double check. Can I ask was this the same for you or did your nodes look suspect on scans etc. I have been really positive until last night when I thought what if it has spread and now I am working myself up again and lay awake thinking about it all night. Hi I'm Judith 39 and unfortunately I have joined the club today. I have a 12mm invasive ductal carcinoma grade 3. Surgery taking place on 12th March and I have been given the choice of lumpectomy or a full mastectomy. Thinking of going with lumpectomy as it's small but it's the radiotherapy that's frightening me. Nurse is coming to see me on Tuesday to answer any questions I may have and I have appointment with surgeon again next Friday. Not 100% sure how I am currently feeling.

Thank you Seabeeze and Jules. I just got a shock when they called yesterday but yes the sooner I know either way the better. My mam is coming with me and hopefully my husband too if he can get the time off work but if not I'm fine with mam as she been with me all the other appointments.
