Hi, I’m just letting you know about my experience with letrozole as there are so many scare stories out there. I’ve been on letrozole for 6 years and apart from a few joint, mainly knee aches, I’ve had no problems. I find walking helps the knees so that it has become a negligible complaint. It is an amazing drug and I’m sure it has helped me stay cancer free for so long. I was grade 3 with lymph node involvement so I had the works - mastectomy, chemo, radio etc. Good luck with your decision. Amelia x

Lots of us seem to suffer from permanent hair loss post chemo, thanks to taxatere and or aromotose inhibitors, but has anyone had any success in getting their oncologist to take them seriously and refer to an epidemiologist? Or any other route. There are lots of hair clinics out there, but really don’t trust any of them. My hair has grown back very thinly and I now have a bald patch on the crown which seems to be getting worse. Advice really welcome as the ‘baldness’ is getting me down.

I've been on Zoladex and Letrozole for a year and apart from very minor creaky knees, I've had no real side effects. Apart from total loss of libido! I was her2+ grade 3. Onc. advised me to walk everywhere and I think it's been good advice. Saved a fortune on bus fares, but it's made knees much stronger. Just keep going! Best wishrs

Thank you for reassurance and wise words. I'm monitoring BP with machine and drugs for blood pressure seem to be bringing it down. It's reassuring to know that youve have had same experience. Like yours my GP said there is no link! X

Having been through the full works, chemo, mastectomy, node removal, radiotherapy and finally settling down on Letrozole and Zoladex, I've developed high blood pressure over last nine months. GP prescribed Amlodipine 5mg. No history of high BP before cancer - anyone else developed high BP and started medication?

I've had a port in place for chemo and herceptin, but now all the treatment is over and I'm having the port removed on Thursday. At the consultation on Friday the nurse said I might have it done with a local anaesthetic. I had it fitted with a general. Anyone had a port removed under local anaesthetic? Would like some reassurance.

Thank you for reassurance. I have a home monitor and my GP is being very cautious about going down meds route as otherwise healthy, if you don't count breast cancer! I should be grateful for being on the planet, but really don't want any more meds.

Has anyone noticed their blood pressure rising since taking Letrozole and or Zoladex. Since I finished main treatment: chemo, mastectomy and radio then six months of herceptin, and stared on Letrozole and Zoladex, I've noticed BP rising. Often 140/150 over 85. GP monitoring but looking like I'm heading for medication to bring it down. Really frustrating after all the treatment. Diet and exercise not a solution: Mostly vegetarian, run 10k a week and weight not an issue. Has anyone else had problems with BP on these drugs.

Thank you Flint and Runningfree for responses. The pain is deep and muscular. I will try massage and see if it eases. I suspect it will just take time. In the great scheme of things it's no great problem to manage day to day, I just wondered how common it was.

I had a right mastectomy (no reconstruction) and level 1 node clearance in November 2015, followed by radiotherapy. The area above my scar, around the pectoral muscle is very, very sore to touch. I've been reassured by oncologist that there is nothing sinister. I've had a few physio sessions but they don't seem to be helping. I do stretches and run twice a week. Does this get better with time?
