Hi I don't get to come online much, but wanted to share my experience. I'm on the posnoc trial and got selected for no further surgery ( had lump and sentinel lymph nodes removed) - they only found small traces in one lymph node- I didn't want anymore surgery if it was necessary they said chemo and rads should get rid of any stray cells. I'm in docetaxal - didn't have a rash but my face did turn flush on and off the day after! As for things tasting horrid yes!!  I find this week I can taste again ready for my next round a week today! Even water taste disgusting and coke is like having pure sugar !! I find lemon juice makes things taste a little better!!  I Eat strong flavours so I can get some taste, mint pork seems to be my fav with spicy  couscous! But can't live on that all week!  Been having sandwich steaks but have to have mustard on for flavour!! X   ... View more

I had the same two days after my first dose- I thought it was the booster jabs causing it as the pain start after I started them. Ended up having co codamal and they helped but didn't take them everyday as I didn't want to get used to them. I started taking one a day a few days before my 2nd round last week to help get in my system and apart from day three and four where I really needs I've not been too bad - either that or I'm more prepared what to expect the 2nd time! Oh if only I didn't have to shave my legs!! - lost lady garden - hair still coming out and no longer allowed the cold cap- but yet still having to shave under arms and legs!! How cruel!! My arms still have hair too, my nails are also Growing at a fast rate! - shouldn't complain as I broke two the other day with kids and now they're same length as my others? I've had a disaster with the bandanas - everyone I've gone to purchase has been out of stock!! - typical! - wigs driving me mad as been to hot and sticky for it! - roll in 23rd July when my son finishes for the summer! Won't be doing school run! - wanted them for day trips out where planning but with how I'm feeling today I'm not sure how far we will get out over the summer! - luckily I still have my codeine at the ready! - had a rubbish few nights of lack of sleep - been waking thirsty too- not helping that even water is tasting disgusting! Roll on next week when I sorta tasting things again!! Vic55- the hair loss really peed me off! I'm holding on to what's left as still a fair bit at the back where it was really thick! Was same as you yesterday I had two groupons, an Amazon and a wow her email for pretty good salons I've wanted to try emailing offers! Sod's law!! - well today I've had a pamper one think I'll book in for that instead! Wonder if they do a head massage in a on!! Lol - I'm going neon clothes shopping - decided my shellac:make up is immaculate every day and clothes are cold and bright so people notice them instead of my new do!! - going to purchase some bandana and a fake fringe ready for the school hols- wigs been hot and itchy but since we're playing few trips to brach with kids thought a bandana would be a bit cooler! Round 2- been told that I'm not allowed the cold cap due to the amount of hair loss I've lost since coming in for bloods yesterday! Gutted and I'm having an epic strop but I think I'm allowed! Had to wear my wigs this week due to the loss at the front and not happy about going completely bald - the feeling in the shower last night was awful touching my head! Was advised by the nurses that they not allowed to use gauze or anything under the paxman- so that was out the question! I had my first round of docetaxel 3 weeks ago- sat having round two as I type! Was okay the day of and after but by the Friday/Saturday I felt like I'd been run over by a bus and the reversed over! By Sunday I had the doctor out who gave me co codamal and that helped with the pains, i then started weening myself off them -just taking at night as I was warned they become addictive - I've been addicted to them in the passed due to chronic wisdom tooth pain where I was left for 6 month and didn't want that again. You need to contact Acas immediately they are open until about 8pmi think. Get all this noted and they will give you the number of the equality act team! Your employer is doing nothing short of discriminating against you! I worked in hr for a time and know some basics but upto date on the new legislation so I'd get Acas involved they will give you advise on what to do and will act as arbitrators should you need,macmillians also have a legal services I belieb and some hospitals do too as they see this alot I hope you take it further - prehistoric dinosaur of a man! I'm confused how it works to be honest! You only have it in during the chemo then nothing for three weeks whilst the chemo gets to work. Maybe I should have used frozen peas on it daily for a few hours! I'm gonna see how much I have left come next Wednesday and if it will have any benefit - otherwise it's wig or hiding until it grows! - my hair when I Want it too grow takes ages! - annoying really as my hair going but yet still need to shave legs and pits! Still got eyebrows and lashes and my nails have grown really long! The wig I've bought it quite long so gonna buy a short one I like it's more tue style I habe now and use the longer one after the summer hols! - I've also bought a fake frings with headband and seen some nice bandana scarves that I could use the fake fringe and scarf with - if the warm weather stays I may get away with it before the gossping starts!! Sar41 how's the wig going? Looking like mine is going to have to have a debut! The rate is coming out I'm gonna look like friar tuck! It seems to be coming out more at the top and not at the back where the thickness is! Decided I don't like any of the wigs I've already looked at so back to looking - I have bought one from a wig shop local to me but it's longer than the style I have so too obvious! my auntie had breast cancer 5 yrs ago, my mum passed away at 57 - 11yrs ago from something unrelated so I think they want to screen- I'm guessing December once I've finished all my treatment - chemo should finish end September/beg October if all goes as planned then rads afterwards. I have shellac and been told they're okay - it's the cuticle pushing they tell you to avoid to stop infection. It was acrylic they told me to avoid but their the reason I have shellac as my own nails are weak from having them! I've taken to neon colours - the idea if my hair does go they'll be too busy staring at my nails! X ... View more

Hi ladies, I have shellac nails and was told that wouldn't be a problem continuing to do so. The advised against acrylics - but when I explained I had the gels to make them stronger due to acrylics she said wasn't an issue but to ensure cubicles weren't pusjed back to de crease infections etc. - to be honest theyve continued to grow as the normal rate so far x ... I take after my mum and she used to see the blood pressure machine and hers would sky rocket! I'm the same! - last time I went I had mine done I went early so wasn't rushed and sat trying to concentrate on my breathing - it did help a little.
