Hi all finally feeling a bit more human today and have managed to eat some toast and yoghurt. Hoorah. Started my lenograstin injections.Has anyone had any problems with these ?I cant bear the thought of any more aggravation at the moment.

Hi all just surfacing on day 3. Couldn't keep anything down after chemo so was admitted to hospital for IV anti sickness and rehydration. Just starting to feel human although very tired.Sounds like most of us are struggling a bit.Hopefully things will get better.

Has anyone thought about fasting before and after chemo to reduce side effects?. Obviously no good for you Cass.I was thinking of trying it but not sure I could go for that long without food! A lot of women in the U S seem to be doing it.

Hi Cass my last bc was 15 years ago but not a lot seems to have changed. I had axillary clearance this time and have had a portacath put in to administer the chemo as they didn't want to use either arm. I am her2- so don't ned herceptin.Ive got my fingers crossed for you on Wednesday.Waiting for results is such a nightmare.Keep strong xx

Hi Cass great that you can join us.It must be especially hard facing this while pregnant. I had my first bc at 40 and managed to survive the treatment. What chemo are you both having? Im having FEC T which is different to my last regime, I asked the breast care nurse if it was better now and she said probably worse which was a bit worrying! It looks like you are both starting before me so best of luck.There are some good tips for coping with chemo on this site.I am definitely stocking up on laxatives as I remember the constipation being one of the worst side effects. Think I will give the coldcap a go. Good luck both of you.We can get through this together xxx

Hi Sheila 1am starting chemotherapy on May 11th ( fec) . I am 55 and live in Dorset . I have had a WLE for a grade 3 tumour and 1 positive lymph node.I did chemo 15 years ago for a primary tumour in the other breast but am still just as nervous doing it all again. Hi I took tamoxifen for 5 years when I had breast cancer at age 40 (15 years ago.) I did some drenching night sweats and palpitations in the early weeks but after that it was fine. Everybody reacts differently but it really wasn't that bad.Hope that helps.

Hi Woofer Like you I had breast cancer 15 years ago when 40. I had WLE chemo radio and tamoxifen for 5 years. I have recently been diagnosed with a 9mm grade 3 tumour in the other breast and am about to start chemo ( FECT.) like yourself. I have asked for genetic counselling as my sister also had breast ca at age 40. I went for counselling before but they said I was low risk ha ha ! however they are now saying I am eligible for genetic screening. I'm dreading the chemo again especially hair loss as I didn't have that last time.

I have just seen my oncologist to discuss whether to have chemo for my 9mm grade 3 tumour Er+ and asked if I could have the test .He told me it was no good for me as I had one positive lymph node .Also there was no funding for the test although it had been Nice approved.

Hi I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. 9mm grade 3 tumour er+ her- and one sentinel node positive.I have had WLE and axillary clearance and been told that I will get a 4.3 % benefit with chemo and have to decide whether to have it or not. I had CMF Chemo 15 years ago for cancer in the other breast and the thought of going through that again strikes fear in my heart. Is anyone else in a similar situation or has any advice to offer?
