Hi kate. I manage the waiting okay but it gets worse as I get closer to my appointment! Would you mind me asking what care you are receiving now you have your results? Was the midwife informed? I'm pregnant and my midwife is also very "careless" with her approach to the point I asked to change.

Hi rachel Sorry you're going through this. Don't panic (easier said than done I know!) Good gps will want to get you to a climic fast so its not reflection on the lump but simply they are a good gp. I saw mine on a friday aNd I had a call from the clinic on the monday and had an appointment for the following monday. Ita easy to start thinking speed=bad news but really its speed=good service. The waiting is hard but make sure you get that call today. I felt better when I had appointment and then going for tests because although you don't know the results yet you know you're deaLing with it head on. Don't assume with lumps and bumps or you'll go mad. I've done the same. Keep touching it and asking myself does it hurt? Move? Bigger? Smaller? There's no way to know like the clinic will. You've done the best thing. Keep us postes how you get on.xxx

Thanks judith. I think I'm reading too much into the behaviour of the doctors and staff. I'm trying to analyse why they would say they were 99% sure its benign but send me for a biopsy anyway or why they made a follow up appointment rather than just phone. Surely they are suspicious it could be bad and are forward planning. Funny what tricks the mind will play on you when you're anxious and feeling vulnerable.

Hi nomi Sorry. I responded on other thread. You are clearly worried and need a second opinion. Go back to your gp. You need a follow up appointment and reassurance. Be super honest with the gp. She seems like the person to appeal to. Its not fair to feel in limbo like you have been. The waiting is actually the worst part. I can't offer any suggestions as to what it is. I wish I could but I do hope you go back and be brutally honest with gp about your concerns. Keep us updated how you get on.xx

Hi nomi. I'm sorry you've found yourself here especially while pregnant. Its the one thing that is causing me the most fear. I guess everything will be clear on monday. Can you call your gp? Its not fair you're still feeling frightenex Nd anxious. Did they do a biopsy or anything? I think you should call for piece of mind.xx

That is the best news! I am thrilled!! I have taken your Advice and I'm focusing on baby 🙂 its defo working. I've bought some bits and pieces and taking time out when she/he kicks which is so comforting. Whatever the outcome I'll be fine because I have this little one to look after. Xxx

Hi kate. Thanks for responding. I just went ans found your post and I cant believe you were encouraged to ignore especially by the midwife. I know boobs do weird things in pregnancy (I'm 25 weeks pregnant). Mine have gone up 3 cup sizes, leak milk, are super warm. Its endless. How are you getting on? The first check the doc said a cyst or blocked duct but the ultrasound doc said fibrodema (can't spell) I think that alarmed me too. I know it was said it seemed benign But it cant be both and if they are still changing their minds as to what it is they could change it again and its something worse. Maybe I'm letting my paranoia run away with me.

Hi everyone I wanted to start by saying I am overwhelmed how good the nhs have been. I saw my gp and was referred due to a breast lump and had an appointment in 10 days (9 if you don't count bank holiday). The care has been faultless. I'm back in 5 days for my results. I had an ultrasound and biopsy today. The docs who checked me first said it was most likely benign but an ultrasound would be best. I wasn't able to havd a mammogram due to being under 35. I didn't want to feel relieved until I had been through everything. The ultrasound woman said she too thought it was 99% probably benign but would do a biopsy to be absolutely sure. I waivered at this point. Part of me thought - why? Why would you if its benign? The rational part thought - if I were a doctor I wouldn't want to take any chance with any patient either. If there was a 1% chance I wasn't sure I'd biopsy too. I want to go with my rational self but my brain is playing tricks on me! 1 minute I feel okay and the next I am convinced they said things to make me feel better and that actually they suspect something. Or what if they make mistakes all the time? If it is something bad will they try to see me sooner? Is this normal while waiting for results?

Ill be in the other pocket! Lol. It was okay and I felt calm once there. I think knowing you're being proactive helps And having the tests under way feels better than waiting like we have been. The staff were just lovely. I had someone come check, then ultrasound and then biopsy. They said I was too young for a mammogram. At each stage each person said "I think its benign" BUT I want 100% sure and so do they so ill be back on monday for the results. Its more waiting but I feel like its getting there now regardless the outcome.

Thank you. It went as well as xould be expected and I can't fault how lovely each person was I met. The 2 doctors who initially felt it seemed sure it was not a concern as it was moveable and smooth with defined edges.Then went for an ultrasound and the woman said it looked like a fibrodema (it just looked like a black round pebble on the screen) but she wanted to be absolutely sure with a biopsy. So I'm back next monday but she seemed adament it was not going to be a problem. I'm a black and white type of gal though so still feel on edge tl that is confirmed. Hi everyone I'm 31 and 25 weeks pregnant with what will be our rainbow baby after a miscarriage. Last week I was fiddling about with a breast pump and found a lump in my breast. I won't describe it as it seems, from using google (bad idea), that cancer doesn't follow a pattern so to speak. I went to my gp immediately and was referred and my appointment is tomorrow. I've never been so frightened and the thing that is upsetting me most is that it may be bad and I won't get to the end of this pregnancy or ill have the baby but be too poorly to care for him/her. Has anyone else been through this?
