Hi Tina,    I hope everything goes well for you today- waiting is really difficult and at least this time tomorrow it will be over. I had a lumpectomy and node biopsy last week so I know how you are feeling. I also had the same dye and wires!   I was really anxious the few days before surgery but felt a lot calmer on the day so I hope you are too. You will be in good hands!!    For me, it made the diagnosis of BC feel more real but I am trying to remain positive that with my chemo over and surgery too then radiotherapy is the last piece of the jigsaw!    Thinking of you.   Kate X ... Hi Carole,   I am May starter but would echo Tweasel's comments - I didn't have time to get the port fitted before my first treatment and they struggled to find my veins - white coat syndrome!! I would not hesitate to recommend getting the port fitted - it makes the treatment and blood testing so much easier and quicker. Avoids any fainting episodes too!   I also had the port fiited under local anaesthetic with sedation too but general anaesthetic is also an option.   For your treatments, the hospital should also give you some numbing cream to apply to the port area 30 mins before you attend the hospital but it is really easy to use.   Good luck.   Kate x   ... Morning Ladies,   How are we all doing?   I have my 4th FECT treatment today - first T session so feels like starting again! Hi Kilmanjaro,   Like yourself I opted not to use the cold cap and my hair start to fall around days 14/15 of cycle 1 before I headed to the hairdressers  - it was tough at first but getting used to the new look and wig and quicker in the shower!!    I also used Headscarves by Ciara - personal service was first class and loved the scarves!!   This is now day 6 of cycle 2 FECT and starting to feel more like myself again - good luck with your second chemo on Thursday!   Kate x ... Hi - Daisy, thinking of you today and hope you get on okay with your first session. Rest when you get home and drink plenty of water and peppermint tea and ginger biscuits (if you like them)!   Cass - if it helps, I have also had the same red cheeks but I am hoping it will pass soon! Constipation too - oh the joys!!    This is day 5 for me and I am glad the nausea feeling has passed - just a lot more tired than normal - it all still feels a little surreal but I guess just having to adjust to this new world!  ... Hi I have also been recently diagnosed with BC and it has been a roller-coaster few weeks but started my first FEC-T treatment yesterday....5 to go! Felt quite nauseous yesterday but better today so hopefully the worst is over for this cycle.
