Hi I was the same as you LL and decided not to take chemo in July just rads and tamoxifen.  The risks/se of chemo were not how I wanted to have for 2% benefits.  I'm 53 and have been healthy all my life so I felt that rads and hormones would be enough.  The hormones will give me another 2% but will consider whether the se are worth it after a year it's a bit like Russian roulette but I want to live life to the full even if I shorten it sheena ... Hi Ali It's probably the quickest part I think they try to get you started asap. I took my best friend with me to get the results,  I kinda knew it was going to be bad news to be honest,  folks faces are a dead give away.  The surgeon told me I had cancer and would need lumpectomy etc I was in shock and they gave me a week to get over the shock.  When I went back to discuss this with surgeon on a Friday,  he said he would like to operate on the Monday haha no time to get in a state! ! so surgery went well no problems luckily and then the two week wait for the results of pathology I feel lucky that I was processed quite quickly,  had mu op om 25 may, rads were delayed because oncologist recommended chemotherapy but I didn't want it,  she gave me a week to think it over, but I didn't change my mind,  couldn't face it so rads finished now amd on tamoxifen for a number of years it's difficult to stay positive,  it is a roller coaster of emotions and you soon find out who your real friends are! You're welcome Ann, yes the pharmacy order it for me, it's Lloyds and stick my name on it! Side effects, I'm still working out what's what really, started beginning of July and finished rads a couple of weeks ago. I did have mild hot flashs in the evenings, I take tam when I wake up, no sweats tho. Mild feeling of nausea all the time. I did get a small blood clot in my leg but that would have happened which ever brand I guess. I don't have the flashes just now because I was prescribed anti depressants and they mask flashes bonus I suppose. It's a rocky road Ann, but as I said mylan had the least added stuff. Hi Ann I've been using Mylan and the gp specifies this on my script so the pharmacy has to provide it, I'm in the Highlands.  I did some research before taking tamoxifen and from what I could gather,  Mylan had the least "added ingredients" or fillers so that's why I choose that one sheena  ... Hi wavylocks! I was told that if your gp names the brand you prefer on the script the pharmacy has to order that brand. I'm on tamoxifen and have the brand mentioned in the script and the pharmacy I use has also marked my records with it as well.  They told me that they usually get a variety of brands but are happy to order my one sheena x ... A very late good evening x Mael, it's odd you mention twinges in your underarm and is there a connection,  for approx 4years I had a pain in my elbow and my hair was getting thinner and thinner.  Since op the pain has gone and my hair ( sorry Jill x) has been restored to its former glory.  It makes you wonder if these "symptoms" we felt were an indicator or am I just imaging the whole thing Jill I believe that an awful lot of people who have had chemotherapy use that shampoo, hopefully it will only be a temporary problem good night my friends xxxxxx ...
