Hi lemonDrizzle..I have my treatment at the lilac center at St.Helens hospital,its a really friendly place.. when I had radiotherapy first time round, I went to Clatterbridge. The party seems in full swing now...I have my best long, white pull-on platform boots specially for the occasion...nothing else, just them!!! No, only joking I have my best knitted jumpsuit with the flared legs...mustnt jump in the water with that on, I'll sink!! Lots of love and chinking of glasses to those who cant be with us...xxx Dot

Good morning to all in the cafe...I'm a bit early this morning aren't I, its a lovely sunny day in the NW for a change so am up a bit earlier than usual! For those who dont know me yet, my name is Dot, I'm 55, married with 2 grown up girls, and have 3 grandaughters( 12, 8 and 2)..right thats enough introductions..lets get this party started!! I love a bit of a sing song, and you cant beat a bit of Abba..am warming me pipes up as we speak...what was that someone said..sounds like cinders crunching under a door- ooo cheeky!! Its tumour markers, Sue..its a blood test which looks for a protein given off by the tumour..the higher the level, the more active the cancer is..not all consultants use them coz they're not always deemed reliable.x

Just back from my appt with onc..positive news, TM's now down to 81!! Before chemo they were 450, 149 at my last appt in march..so good news all round. Next appt mid sept. I had weekly paclitaxol, wasn't too bad at all...thats the only one ive ever had so can't comment on anything else...Dot x

Morning all! Its my appt with my onc this afternoon..not really expecting a great deal as I havent had any scans, did have my bloods done about 3 weeks ago for TMs...thats the only thing I'm concerned about even though I haven't any new pains to report, last time I had them done they were gradually dropping, so am hoping thats still the case..we shall see, I will post later this afternoon. Hope Helen is ok and will get home soon, I don't know her but I feel like I do, I have followed her posts for a long time.. she does make me chuckle sometimes with the things she says 😄 I send her my best wishes ♥ Hope everyone else keeping well....x Dot

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome..I will let you all know how my appt goes on friday. I have my routine appt this week for my treatment, I have 6 weekly denosumab, 3 weekly herceptin and 3 weekly faslodex.....had my first lot of chemo last october-paclitaxol- 12 lots, which wasnt as bad as I was expecting, had that every week and last one was january....worked well for me, and hoping things still stable. Hello all..am new to this site so I'll apologise in advance for any mistakes coz I'm not brilliant with technology! Its taken me a long time to pluck up courage to post, although i have followed your posts and got much inspiration from them. I think you are a wonderful group of women and have decided that i would like to join you all(especially in the cyber cafe!)..my bone mets were diagnosed 7yrs after primary- pubic bone, spine, couple of spots on sternum and shoulder..am ok at the moment, all stable at last scan in january..next appt is this friday (26th) had tumour markers done couple of weeks ago, so will wait now to see what next move is...feeling the scanxiety already and havent had any scans yet!
