The capsule means that it will never go. There is no point trying to drain it as the capsule keeps the space so it'll fill up again. It's not too painful, only when it is completely filled and the skin is tense.  See onc next week and then surgeon on Friday. He is carrying on the search to see if there are any alternative treatments for it. Nothing so far. That's great news  about college. Take it easy. xx ... View more

Hi Bibi. Great to hear from you. I'm now part time at work after a little discussion with my boss. My lovely seroma is now encapsulated and the surgeon has been advised by Plastics and Onc not to operate due to Rxt damage. I'm ok with it now but it's been a difficult time. Sorry to hear about shingles. I found it very painful when I had it. Hope you recover soon. I also agree that chemo keeps raising horrible issues. I've a few problems after Rxt. Had my last 3 monthly onc check yesterday. Felt very anxious afterwards. Just want guarantees that it won't come back. Hate this feeling in limbo. Just waiting for it all to start again. I know it's just end of treatment worry but it's a horrible feeling. Glad you're feeling so much better. I must confess to still feeling exhausted. Hi Bibi, It was the last one today. So excited at ringing the bell. Been smiling all day. Thank you for remembering. I have decided to wait until Jan to give pt another go. I think I need some time to just my life back on a steady track. The counsellor has extended my sessions by another 2. Everything happening all at once. The surgeon has also recalled me for next week and the onc for the week after. Don't want to have to be having appts every week. I thought it would all be settling down and I would be having hospita free weeks.  I took my parents out for lunch and am meeting up with friends during this week. Got some rough news today. I was so excited that I was going permanently 4 days at work. It hasn't been agreed and I go back to full time in November. Feeling frustrated today and a bit tearful. On the upside it's only a week to my last treatment. Chelle I have been to counselling and found it has helped a huge amount. I am feeling more like myself now. Hope you're celebrating the finish. Still got 2.5 weeks to go but so pleased the end is finally in sight for us all. Hope your holiday was a great time and you feel good. I've got a week off and am catching up with lots of people as well as having another drainage planned for Friday.  I have to admit to wondering the same thing about what happens next especially as I am only her2 and not hormone responsive. Found it!! I've been enjoying my day off. Tiredness is still an issue but so long as I'm sensible I can cope. I have still got eyelashes but they are sparse. Had to get new glasses though. Had an eyetest in June but decided to wait for eyes to settle post chemo. Not a massive change but enough to warrant the expense. Ruth I hope you are not overdoing things. I remember you said about your mum at the beginning of your treatment. It's so hard. My favourite aunt has dementia and it makes me cry to see how that disease has taken so much of her already. I think that's a good idea. I'm not sure how to get that done. It would be easy enough to send a message to everyone. I know I've seen that admin put a note on the thread saying it has been moved. I know it's a year on since this thread started but I don't find it so hard when I see all the new ladies joining. When it was Jan 2016 thread I would get very upset. It's strange how not being in the middle of treatment allows you better perspective on the never ending cases of breast cancer. Hope you are well. Not long until we meet up. Hi Terrifc1, I think you need to join the Sept 2016 thread. I am sorry that you are having to join at all. This is a hateful disease. You will find the support of the women on here is amazing. It's the safe place to rant and let off steam. I'm glad you were brave enough to eventually go for your results. I had convinced myself that my cancer had spread and burst into tears when the onc gave me the all clear. Chemo is tough, some days it can be hard to even get out of bed. You can get through it. I've still got 2. I finish on 31/10.   We had a woman give us a picture that she had painted. It's hung up in the nurses area were lots of patiens see it. Have they got a coffee machine? Could you get them a selection of coffees?  Really looking forward to the meetup.  Have you settled back after your holiday? My friend's wife has just finished her 1st cycle and has started losing her hair this week.  brought it all back from last year. Looking forward to no more 3weekly injections or even the monthly meetup with the surgeon. TC sorry to hear that you needed u/s on new lump. I hope it was good news. It sounds as if we are all suffering from varying levels of fatigue. Not surprising due to continuous treatment and stress. I am still having problems with my seroma and still having regular appts with surgeon. Now have open access appts to clinic and to radiology for u/s drainage. Have you started back to work? Meeting for lunch sounds good. I've not been in London since I had my cancer. Any suggestions as to where to eat? I eat anything and any spice levels as well. Xx ... View more

I can change to any Weds. The following week works for me. I can fully sympathise with tiredness. It does feel worse for a few days after the Herceptin injection. I want to stop being a patient now but got a few weeks to go. Bibi how did the holiday go? Are you feeling refreshed? I start counselling again on Friday. Has really helped a lot. A few ladies I know are now going. I didn't realise it would be so hard after treatment. Thought it would all be back to normal really quickly. I am just over my first year since diagnosis and am still on Herceptin for another 8 weeks. I can say that the fear does ease off. I did find that the first anniversary was tough. Things do change drastically in your life but you can find a new way forward just give yourself time. I wanted to keep it all to myself but letting people know and even asking for support makes a huge difference. I organised to go for coffee and lunch with different friends on different days. My closest friends would just turn up with homemade soup or cake that could go in the freezer for when I didn't feel up to cooking. I found that my friends took their cue from my attitude towards my cancer. It is hard and can be lonely but the support on here is amazing. xx   ... View more
