Hi bibi I haven't been on hear in ages as have been so busy with the kids etc! This was a real blow yesterday but at least the nodes are out now!! The radiotherapy doesn't worry me either. Was just the shock of how many still had traces! I thought they would clear easier than the lump! I am waiting for an appointment now to find out radiotherapy plan. Hi I'm just reading all this as I am too feeling a little deflated after my path results yesterday! I will start from the beginning so bear wirh!!!! Was diagnosed in Aug with idc l. Given a biopsy to confirm. Due to the size of the lump. Scan said 3cm doctor always said bigger!! 6cm which confused me as that was him feeling it. Her2 positive too!!!! More bad news. So he decided chemo first to get it into my system quicker and take a hold them mastectomy. Had it in lymph nodes too. So September I started 6 chemo sessions. Sailed through that with hardly any side effects really. Had mastectomy 9th Feb and full node clearance. All that fine too. Recovering well with little discomfort. Had a scan towards the end of chemoand scan showed no sign of tumour and nodes shrunk back to normal. So all in all felt huge relief. Went for results from surgery yesterday and indeed tumour had gone completely but they found microscopic traces in 11 out of 16 lymph nodes!!! This scares me so much that it must have been in 11 in the first place and that chemo didn't entirely wipe that out. So now the plan is more radiotherapy than we thought!! From being on such a high after the last scan I feel I have been brought back down with a huge bang. I'm 37 with two very young children so obviously want to enjoy many more years with them x ... Hi everyone haven't posted for ages but still read up from time to time. Bibi my hair is really strange looking now. I have one side which is thin but still looks normal ish. The back and other side have almost all gone. Still have a long fringe. My scalp is all covered with thick dark hair now though. I have a date for my surgery 9th February. Having three nights in Portugal next week without the kids to recharge before surgery. Was my amazing mummy who suggested that so she's having kids. Not quite sure what I will do about the hair situation! Prob a mix of wig and sun hat!! I can't wait to not have the constant thought of what I'm doing about hair!! Very vain I know!!! I'm off today for my mammogram to see if it's shrunk. I can't feel a thing now so sure it must have. I have my last T on Tuesday so should be ok Christmas Day. My second t was much easier than the first although the tiredness has lingered a bit. But that could be me being busy with Christmas plus I don't sleep great as getting hot flushes! Xx ... View more

Ho everyone I haven't posted for a while. For no other reason than just being so busy with kids school stuff and getting a new kitchen. Well school broke up now and kitchen fitted so am pleased with that. I found my second T easier than the first although the tiredness is annoying but other than that no real SE to mention. I have my last on the 23rd dec then surgery for me after that. I can't even feel the lump at all now so that's reassuring. My hair is dreadful now. It's just thin all over but has actually started to grow back at the root. Eyebrows and eyelashes are very thin too!!! I find I look at everyone's hair now with a little envy although being a hairdresser I'm prob already obsessed with hair!!! Bibi thanks for all the info regarding diet as its something that really interests me. I eat loads of calves liver and it says to avoid so won't be eating it again! Walnuts too bizarrely and I also eat those lots xxx ... View more

Bibi I keep meaning to ask how's your hair? I have quite a big bald patch on the top now that I just about manage to hide! I'm sure I can see new growth though! Eyebrows are thinning now. Hi I'm 37 and was diagnosed in August after going to my gp with a lump. I really didn't expect it to be anything as had only finished breastfeeding my little boy about two months earlier! I have invasive ductal too that's oestrogen and herceptin positive. I'm having chemo first to shrink them mastectomy January. I have had 4 chemo so far and it's been very doable. And that's running around after a 1 and 5 year old! I have the odd day that I'm wiped out but nothing major. I have carried on with a pretty normal life. I'm not working through my treatment as I just felt at first I wanted to concentrate on getting better. I'm really enjoying being off which I never thought I would as do love my job. I have been cold capping so far and have managed to keep a lot of hair. I would definitely say give the cap a go x ... View more

That's my worry now! How do we ever feel normal again!! I'm sure we will though as I compare how strong I feel now to that dreaded first two weeks when all I thought about was leaving my poor kids without a mummy!!! Hi everyone had my first T on Wednesday and felt great up to yesterday when I just started aching everywhere. Don't feel sick which is a bonus just drained really. All I want to do is lay in bed which is proving difficult with a 1 and 5 year old in tow! Although I think I'm actually better the more I move around. What is everyone taking for the aches and pains and roughly how long does it last? My last one is 23rd dec which should be fine for Christmas Day but it's my 10th wedding anniversary the 29th dec and we have a few days in Edinburgh booked!!!
