What's the problem with them giving you emend? Have I spelt that right? I'm worried about the sickness more than anything. Although I never got morning sickness but do suffer slight travel sickness. I'm going to stock up on ginger beer and tea xx

Thanks so much for all this info Jane. I'm about to start my Fec-T on Wednesday and do want to give the cold cap a try. Even though it gets a bit of negativity. So it's great to hear it has worked for so many of you. I have had my hair cut to a short bob which I love and wish I had done years ago!!! It was so dry on the bottom I knew I would be pulling t out just trying to detangle it. I do have a wig ready in prep for it falling out which I'm thrilled with but would love to keep my own. My hair is so thick so even if I lose half it shouldn't be noticeable. As daft as this may sound the hair loss won't bother me but I'm worried about what my 5 year old daughter will say!!! Stupid I know but we haven't really said much to her yet as she's a real worrier.

Thanks Sarah same back to you. It's so hard with little ones but then at times I do think the fact they are unaware is a bit easier. I can't bring myself to say anything to my adorable 5 year old. I get all the books from Amazon. I'm yet to start my treatment. So far have had ct scan which I'm still nervously waiting on results. I'm starting my chemo next Wednesday and my last one will be 23rd dec then having mastectomy. I was shocked when they decided this way round but fully support the decision. Ah blonde ambition your not far from me in Leeds. What are lipocils?? I feel a bit more sad about the eye lashes and brows as I can usually spot someone without them. I have an appointment Friday morning to try some wigs. Thought I would prepare myself a bit in case the cold cap doesn't work. I have become slightly obsessed with spotting people's wigs. But then being a hairdressers I think I always was!! I'm having gel nails on my fingers and toes tomorrow that always makes me feel better xxx

Hi everyone I'm just jumping in on this a bit too as since diagnoses have completely changed what I eat! I have given up dairy gluten sugar and alcohol. I won't eat anything processed anymore and only eat organic fruit and veg and organic chicken and fish. I'm having smoothies from the bullet all day too. It might not be doing much but I do feel better for doing something. I also read about the turmeric. I'm reading a really interesting book called your life in your hands and it focuses a lot on the western diet contributing to cancer xx

Hi everyone yes mine is starting 9th sept so with my calculations my last one is dec 23rd!! Talk about timing. Certainly a Xmas I won't forget. Can you fill us in about the green juice. I have turned a bit obsessed with food since my diagnosis. If nothing else it's given me something to focus on. I have a juice from my nutribullet every day. I add various bits to it. Wheatgrass, flax, chia seeds etc. I'm really happy to try anything to help get me through the chemo and would do anything to preserve some of my hair. Xxx

I'm having it this way round too and was surprised at first but I feel better now as I think the chemo into me first will kill any stray cells floating around. And I don't have to wait to recover from surgery before getting chemo. Plus I think once we see the tumour shrinking it will be better xx

Hi thanks so much for response la la it's all just so much to take in!! I'm having meeting Thursday with oncologist to discuss chemo then hoping to start the week after. I have decided not to work through the chemo as I'm a really busy hairdresser. I work 3x 10 hour days and it's none stop on my feet. There maybe days when I feel up to working but with my appointment system I felt it's better for them to just not book me anyone in then I'm not letting people down last min! I feel ok about all the treatment but I'm more scared of it coming back than anything. I hope the fear fades!! Xxx

Hi sjb I hope you don't mind me butting in here but I was diagnosed last week and my consultant is wanting to do chemo first then mastectomy. I was surprised that he wanted to do it this way but fully understand and trust his judgement. I'm 37 with two little ones!!! My first scan and mammogram said it was originally 2.8cm but he's saying he's concerned it's closer to 4-6! Xx

I'm hoping to go Monday to start ball rolling so should find out. That's what my consultant had said too about a patient he has and it's shrunk to nothing. He still thinks he will do a mastectomy after though to be sure. He just thinks I will be better to get chemo into me quicker and it gives us something to monitor it by xx

I'm having chemo first to get it under control a bit and monitor the shrinkage. So 6 months of that then mastectomy. I transferred to a different hospital yesterday as they have a specialist breast unit. I was quite surprised that they wanted to do it this way round but will go with there best judgement as to what is best for me. We were meant to be flying to Ibiza in two days but instead I'm going to be starting chemo!!! Keep in touch ladies. I need tips for chemo xx
