Hi, Pam here, yes and doc Dave me some vein cream which is Frankincense, and some natural flower essence, it is soft and gentle and helps to ease the vein pain. I have finished my last chemo three weeks ago and it is still sore on my arm a bit, now just started the radiotherapy. Still nearly all done. Hi Nadz, don't worry about the eating thing, it's important to eat just whatever takes your fancy I was told. Cream cakes etc. I have gone off of chocolate, which is usual, but I am whizzing up kale, banana and frozen mango, and trying to help with iron and vitamin C. Also trying to eat a bit of watercress as the iron in it is good. This is all from my daughter who went through the same thing three years ago. She was 48 when she had cancer and is now fighting fit, full of energy and enjoys life. She had many problems, with money, husband who left her with debts, and hated where she lived, all these things don't help, but she didn't tell anyone. So when I see her it makes me think if she can do it so can I, and I am quite a positive person, have no worries and. Huge family for support, so I'm lucky.  But I feel for all you younger ladies, going through this, but it won't beat us, we will soon be normal again, and enjoying life. Yes marina, started on 30dec, but had to miss next chemo as had a very bad cold and sinus trouble, so as I'm a very young 74, doctor said bit risky, so next the second one, is Wednesday 27 Jan. Was sick last night as ate a curry, so best avoid that. Started eating it as I had forgotten to avoid spicy foods! Take care we will all get through this. X ... View more

Hi, never feel daft asking about what is happening to you, they are all there to help and ease things for you, puts your mind at rest. I have phoned none emergency numbers, and they are always willing to help. Never worry about it, it might be exhausting for you. I am only on day 7 of first chemo having EC. I think it's the E that can make you have hair loss, but not always, we are all different. Take care and hope all will be well with you soon. From a mad 74, who is very young in heart and mind, and had a daughter going through this 3 years ago aged 47. Hi, I had a wig fitting today at the hospital, the second one was the right one and only tried three as it all is too much choice. They are so good, my daughters of 50, and 46, are honest about it and thought it was really great, so I'm pleased, especially as I could take it away, which was lucky. I haven't lost any hair yet, but it's sure to happen at some point. Thinking of everyone, we will all get there and back to normal. Pam x ... View more

Hi Marie, we are all with you, you will get there soon, time goes so fast. I just hope you don't have too many bad days. My daughter went through, I think it was FEC, herceptin and radio, three years ago, and she is fighting fit considering she was going through a lot of stress in her life, money, home, partner etc., and she didn't tell anyone. She didn't want to worry us. I am a very young 74 and had a lumpectomy in November, and lymph nodes removed, same side as my daughter, and same time of year, spooky or what. I am having EC, and at the moment feel okay, but I'm a very positive person, and know it will be okay when all finished. I know everyone is not the same, and do feel is if there is anything I can say to help anyone I would. my reasoning is, it's there, get rid of it out of my body and get on with treatment. 2016 will be great for us all. happy new year and cuddles to you all. pam x  ... Hi Marina, I started my first chemo today, and just feel fuzzy headed, but otherwise not bad. I had the cold cap which was very icy, but if you can stick it for 10/15 mins, it does ease a bit. I had EC chemo. I am a very young 74, my daughter went through this three years ago, same lumpectomy and same side boob. She had a different chemo to me tho'. I think it helped me seeing how things might go for me. I am a very positive person, but I know it's different and scary for some people. We are all out here rooting for each other, I am thinking of you, but nurses are amazing and have time to talk, everyone at the hospital are so kind. Hi, I'm Pam, I am starting my first chemo EC on the 30 Dec. I am a very young 74. I have had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed. My daughter went through the same thing three years ago at aged 47. A different chemo but on the same breast, so have a rough idea what can happen. I am a very positive person and know that everyone out there going through this is determined to get back to normal.
