Im 41 and live in Yorkshire with my partner and two children who are 6 and 9. I also have a stepdaughter who is 18 who shares her time with us and her mums family.
In 2019 I had a bi-lateral mastectomy and rebuild followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Initially I had breast cancer in my right breast with suspected spread into my lymph nodes. I chose to have both breasts removed so it couldn’t come back. Spent the last four years on Tamoxifin. Earlier this year I was told that it has spread to a rib, vertebrae and suspected in my liver. I went to the doctor’s for a swollen arm which is lymphoedema. I was given blood tests and a CT scan which showed the spread. I currently have no symptoms and have started treatment. I’m on a targeted therapy drug alongside a hormonal drug and are having my ovaries suppressed whilst waiting to have them removed. Just trying to keep it normal for my children until they need to know more.
