August 2025 chemo starters

@louise15 oh no so sorry to hear that your treatment has been delayed, as you say you prepare yourself and then to be told no must be heartbreaking, let’s hope that Friday is a different story.
@nutmeg5326 got home about an hour ago but all went well, my EC Chemo was pushed through my PICC line through a syringe which was a surprise, I thought it would be through a bag. Got there and had my observation done, took 2 paracetamols as they said not to take them beforehand because they could mask a high temperature. She wet my hair, applied conditioner and fitted the cap which was quite tight, the machine was started and it was cold but I could bear it. After 30 mins she brought some pre meds which were anti sickness and steroids, I took those and then 15 mins after she started to push the chemo through, I didn’t feel a thing. Took about 30 mins to push through and then some saline to flush the line. Had to sit with the cap on Processing: 1000013774.jpg…
for 90 Mins whilst it defrosted and then took it off, I went to rub my hair with a towel but she said not to, just dab it and be very gentle with it. All in all ladies it was not as bad as I had built it up to be in my head. Don’t feel too bad now I am home although I have had a little sleep, think that was because I didn’t sleep very well last night though. Let’s see what the next few days brings. Hope all you other ladies are doing OK, keep the advice and experiences coming. Loads of love and positive thoughts to you all xx
