I have been doing so well up to now. The first round of EC has a lot less side effects that I was expecting and the second round seemed to be going well apart from the distress of the hair loss. Then I caught a cold. my temperature spiked so I called the emergency bay to see if I could take paracetamols. They called me in and did bloods and my neutrophiles had dropped dramatically. They gave me antibiotics and a filgrastan injection, they wanted to keep me in but said I could go home as long as I go back in tomorrow for another injection. Brilliant I thought, at least I can have my cold at home in peace. Unfortunately, I have woken up at 3.30am with awful back pain, like my bones are hurting at the base of my spine and down my legs. I know that pain in the bones can be a side effect of the injections but my goodness this is awful! I haven’t had any side effects of them before.
