I also had an immediate DIEP reconstruction, followed by 15 sessions of radiotherapy. My last session was on 1 May 2026. My plastic surgeon has warned me there is likely to be some shrinkage of the breast - he will wait at least 6 months before making any potential adjustments. So far, so good. I didn’t react badly to the radiotherapy and so far not noticed any meaningful shrinkage - keeping everything crossed. Wishing you best of luck with your next steps - I also had no idea previously that you could get positive margins with a mastectomy. It was a difficult time and I’ll always be worried about scans, like everyone else in this awful club!
