Hi, I will be starting radiotherapy in the next few weeks, 5 sessions on consecutive days but my consultant mentioned I could have another 5 sessions (so 10 consecutive sessions) but the benefit was minimal. So it’s up to me…has anyone here been offered these boosters? and if so what was your decision and how did you come to it as at the moment I don’t know whether to have them or not. Thanks C

Wishing you lots of luck, with your treatment, I had 15 sessions, but understand now they are offer 5 sessions haven’t heard about the extra 5, but feel sure someone will come on the forum who has.
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and lots of moisturiser.

I had 15 sessions then 5 boosters, some years ago. Was no problem at all. I think the boosters are more targeted and the others cover a wider area. Best wishes

I had 9 sessions, 5 plus 4 boosters. The 5 were for the whole breast, the boosters were targeted to where the tumour was sited. Just quicker really.
