1 Positive node removed- not sentinel node!

My surgeon told me she’d removed 6 nodes during the mastectomy, one node was palpable- but it wasn’t the sentinel node.

She must have thought it odd too because she made an OP note to herself to do ANC if the palpable node proved positive- which it did.

I’m trying not to read too much into this, but I wondered whether this had happened to anyone else?

Hi Posden

I wonder if this is a question for one of the nurses (who you can ring at the number above - they are excellent). Speaking as someone with 19/21 lymph nodes infected, including the sentinel node, I am a little envious but, to my knowledge 14 months on, nothing has spread so all I can say a rousing three cheers for our lymph nodes. They do what they are meant to do and hang onto what they absorb as long as they can! Unfortunately all of mine have gone on one side but there’s plenty more around the body to direct the ‘whatever’ to.

I hope your treatment goes well and you soon feel you’ve got your body back,
