1 year after treatment

I needed to share this with someone today who would know how this feels … I finished my active treatment for TNBC a whole year ago today :raised_hands: how quickly does time fly?! I couldn’t even dream of getting to this point when I was diagnosed, and yet here I am

I do find it funny the new milestones in life that we now celebrate. It’s been a day of reflection for me, surprised myself by not crying and feeling oddly happy. Maybe it’s the good weather!

I hope everyone is doing ok, and you’re all looking after yourselves. Thank you for being the best support network there is :sparkling_heart:

What a lovely post! It’s always wonderful to hear people so positive after cancer and I’m sure provides hope for people who have recently been diagnosed.

Totally agree that at the beginning of this whole thing it is unimaginable to think at some point it will all be over and life moves on. Yet, here you/we are!

Keep being happy. x

All I can say is if you are newly diagnosed
Hang in there loads of us have been there and survived the treatment / the surgery .

Hello again!
That is wonderful news. A whole year since you finished active treatment. I hope you are celebrating in some way.
It’s hard to believe at the point of diagnosis that at some point in the future the diagnosis and treatment will all be behind you, so it’s really uplifting when someone says “here I am … years later”.
Wishing you health, happiness and serenity as you go forward.

Thank you everyone

I don’t think a day goes by where I don’t think about cancer, it’s still a big part of my life at the moment, but I hope one day I will think about it less. I read in a book by Matt Haig, “there is room for a lot of pain, but there is room for other things too” and I go by this every day now, yes life does indeed move on and before you know it you’re months/years on!
