12 MONTHS ON

12 MONTHS ON

12 MONTHS ON Hi everybody

Just wanted to share with you my feelings today. I had a mastectomy on this day, twelve months ago followed by 8 chemo and 15 rads which finished on 26th February.

I still feel a little rough around the edges, my bones and joints ache and I’m not the same person as I was 12 months ago, but who cares. My first check up is on 20th June with my onc, followed by one in August with my consultant.

I’m now beginning to live life a little. I’ve decided that this year is all mine. I’ve been on two holidays, got a third booked followed by another in late November early December. I’m doing the Ribbon Walk (10 miles) on 23rd June.

I hope things continue this way - you never know what’s round the corner and I’m not usually one to blow my own trumpet, but I’m beginning to get back “my get up and go” attitude.

For those of you who are still having horrible symptoms my heart goes out to you and I hope you too will start feeling better soon.

Well done YOU!

How lovely to read such an upbeat post. I hope I sound the same when I reach my 1 year anniversay at the beg of Oct.
