I had my first of 6 chemo cycles yesterday having been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in September 19. One lumpectomy a further shave, clear margins and node negative so far do good ?. My consultant requested the oncotype as I’m under 50 and came back with a score of 29, hence after initially thinking just WLE and Rads, Tamoxifen I am now on the chemo trail, slinging everything at it to give me the best possible chance moving forward. I feel really positive and focused, I may well fall apart once active treatment ends, but for now I’m taking each day as it comes and not letting it break me. Hope all you ladies out there are coping ok too, and can focus on Christmas surrounded by your loved ones. Next year I’m planning to be lying on a beach thinking wtf just happened, but crawling out the other side x
Hodo71, good to hear you’re in such good spirits, I had my first chemo cycle last Thursday so I’m a few days ahead of you, so far not too many problems, so hopefully the same for you.
Come join us on the December starters thread it’s kinda a batty assortment of us so far who are all just starting too and feeling our way forward… ?
