Hi All
2pm today is my first shift back to work in 10 months (other than brief 3 weeks in july) I have a mixture of huge excitement but also a little nervous. I really dont want the sympathetic smiles and nods and would really rather nobody asked me how i was! Im in the police so no confrontation for me until March but still looking forward to seeing my regular “clients” and having some banter. I feel like a little bit of normality has returned to my life from today…and next week i will finally (been rescheduled 3 times) marry my sweetheat in Barbados - woohoo to 2011!!! Just wanted to share some good news with you all.
Merry Christmas and a healthy new year to you all.
Am so pleased that things are beginning to look brighter for you, it gives me real hope for myself the future
Will be thinking about you & wish you all the best for today & for your wedding, i just know it will be fantastic.
Thank you for all your messages of support & friendship to me these last 2 weeks & i am very much looking forward to meeting with you & am so glad that we have more than the Bc in common.
Take care & have a great 1st day back speak to you soon.
Thank you CM and Sarah, I feel like a small child getting ready for xmas - got my uniform all layed out on the bed!! lol
Sarah, really looking forward to meeting you, I get the impression that the forum is going to be a real laugh - we all sound like we ejoy a laugh. Im proof that although this disease is crap there really is light at the end of the tunnel!!

Hi deed,
Hope your first shift back went ok, it will get easier from now on am sure, I went back to work in September after 9 months off. I work as a practice nurse in a GP surgery. I was excited and nervous at the same time. It has been the best thing for me, really boosted my confidence and for me good to be on the other side of the fence. People do ask me how I am but am generally left to get on with it. I have done a phased return and had lots of support from work which makes it easier.
Janey xx

Crack on girl, hope your first day back was good and you felt like one of the team again and wonderful news about your wedding, will you be posting piccies ? It’d be good to cry over something happy lol ;)!
My good news today, old boss emailed me back when told him I was being inconvenienced by BC.Said I’d get first refusal at return to school when class numbers pick up in March, something to strive for and great to feel normal as well as plans for later in the year for training.
All our good news gives hope, it build on the fact there’s life with this illness. After today’s little knockback with further diagnosis made up my mind to be more determined than ever to beat it,got a damned nerve using my body like free rent space.
My goals aren’t changing, just adjusting ie: find a wig now so not to scare the punters when I go back to work !
Hi Deed, hope you’ve had a great first day back at work1 You’ve done so well in spite of all those difficulties that have come up for you along the way! And… you’ve supported so many of us in spite of that too!
I hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family, and have a super wedding in all that lovely warm weather. Yes, piccies on here would be lovely if you feel you want to! Lots of love, xxxxx
Thank you ladies for your support. First shift back was FAB despite only being 3 hours. Officers that I hadnt seen for months and months came to welcome me back. Its great to be “one of them” again despite them being a little over protective over me - onward and upward I say!! I feel like IM the one in control now NOT this horrible disease!
I wish you all a very merry christmas and thank you all soooo much for your support.
Hugs for you all…
