Hello ladies. I started this post and then never replied. I’m so shocked that so many of us youngsters have travelled this journey! I’m now a year out from my diagnosis. It turns out my cancer was stage 3 a. In the past year, I have undergone a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, an axillary node clearance, and a couple of operations due to complications. I opted not to have chemotherapy or radiotherapy due to other health issues that run in my family that could have been escalated by the drugs. I started a course of tamoxifen and zoladex, but only a couple of months into taking them I became heavily depressed and I kept passing out - I reacted pretty badly to them. But my surgeon is confident that all of my cancer was removed successfully. I feel like I’ve come a long way in the past year. I couldn’t have done it without support from other women like yourselves. If any of you need to talk, I’m here. X
