23 year old daughter diagnosed today

My beautiful young daughter has been diagnosed with grade 3 invasive duct cancer. She has more US tests on Monday and consultations and appointment with cancer nurse. She is being so brave even though she is facing the removal of her right breast and the other treatment to come. I am devastated and trying so hard to be strong for her and two sisters. She lives on her own 40 miles from us, I’m so worried about her not being close to any family. Sorry for rambling I feel so bad right now and do fearful the thing may have spread further

Hi Chris24

I am sorry to read about your daughters diagnosis, it sounds like a really difficult time for you.  I’m sure some of the other users will be along to support you soon.

In the meantime maybe you would like to talk to a member of our helpline staff who are there to offer emotional support as well as practical information. The free phone number is 0808 800 6000 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9.00 to 5.00 and Saturday 10.00 to 2.00.

Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator

Thank you Sam. I am truly astounded with the way she is handling this, incredibly brave and still making us all laugh. I’m hoping she can keep this frame of mind although I know there are going to be lows. She is surrounded by fantastic friends and family.
She is determined to use this by raising awareness, especially in younger women, for all. Please take a look at her blog x
