27 years old living in London seeking meet up

Hi everyone

I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2013 I’ve recently had a mastectomy last month on the right breast and lymph node operation in the (axillary) just a week ago, It would be nice to hear/meet up with other ladies of a similar age.

Its been difficult at times I’ve tried to remain positive but you know you have those days where you aren’t.

I thought posting it on the younger women and families I might be able to get a reply :womanembarrassed:

Hi Becks,

How are you doing? I’m 34 (just turned last week) and like you have had mastectomy and full node clearance. I live out in essex, but would be very easy me to get into London for a meet up. Would be really nice to chat to people who have been through the same thing and “get” the whole breast cancer thing. Feel free to message me back!

Hi Rebecca,
Yes I finished treatment in June last year - I had chemo first, followed by mastectomy, followed by radiotherapy and am now on Tamoxifen. Was a long slog, but have gradually built myself up and am back working full time.

Happy birthday for next week! Hope your results go well too when you get them. Feel free to ask any questions about the treatment or just to chat!

Hi Becks, I am 28 and was diagnosed in October and have had a lumpectomy and awaiting radiotherapy. I have also been prescribed tamoxifen and zoladex. I live in London and would be happy to chat xxx

Hi girls,

Are you members of the Younger Breast Cancer Network on Facebook?facebook.com/ManchesterYoungerWomensBreastCancerNetwork? It’s a completely private, friendly group for girls our age.

We regularly have meet ups and just had a really fun one in London with girls at various stages of their treatment. I’m sure there will be more in the near future.

It makes such a difference meeting other younger women - it was a real turning point for me.

Hello Becks, sorry I’ve only just seen this message. I didn’t have chemo but thought I would be so cut my hair into a pixie cut last November. Actually love having short hair now and think I will be sticking with it for some time.

I started tamoxifen in January and began to combine it with zoladex 3 weeks ago. So far I haven’t really noticed major side effects but I know it’s very early days!. I do get a bit more tired than I used to however but this could be down to my radiotherapy.

I started radiotherapy last week and have had four sessions so far, have my fifth this afternoon.

How are you getting on?. Have you started chemo? X

Thanks Sandytoes! I thought this group was for those residing in Manchester. I’m a Londoner but will join!

Hi I’m 29 and have just been diagnosed with primary breast cancer. I’ve suffered really bad with anxiety attacks and since had a ct scan which was clear. I’m having my lump removed next week and will then find out my treatment going forward. I would love to be part of this group as I live in essex and work in London.

Me and my partner have a 16month old son but like the rest of these posts it would be great to chat to other younger people in this position.
