Just thought I’d ask this one, as I’ve been listening to Radio 4’s PM programme and lots of people are “taking a leap” on leap day.
It’s traditional for unmarried ladies to propose marriage, so that’s what I’m going to do. It’s turned into a bit of a tradition for me, having asked for the last 5 leap days. Haven’t got anybody to say yes yet, and I’m not expecting today to be any different!
Let us know how it went CM! It might be a yes this time. I was thinking of doing the same but to be honest I would rather spend the money on a holiday. Oh dear, that doesn’t sound very nice does it. (I do love him to bits though) x
Like you Choccie I proposed, to my partner of 30 years !! As usual he said Yes, but we never seem to get round to it, My excuse is that I’m waiting for my hair to grow back so I won’t look silly in the photo’s.
I think though this time we will do something about it , life has become so much more precious now, Good Luck to all other ladies on this Leap Year Day. xx
I have made a leap and handed in my notice at work - I am going to start a new job doing just one hour a day to start with, gradually building up to 22 hours spread over 4 days a week.
Well, I’ve had a particularly boring day in work so nothing special for me. I fancy the idea of a double wedding for CM and tillybob - definitely new hats all round!
Happy birthday to Supertrooper, now we could be sneaky and try to work out your age or you can pretend to be about 10 or so:)
I keep terrifying my OH by reminding him what’s the significance of today’s date but he just laughs. Expect marriage will come along at some time ( was going to be when I’d repaid my student loan - only about 5 years to go on that one as I went to unit as a mature student) by the time that’s paid there will be another leap year!! I’ve been for pre chemo visit and start tomorrow so not really exciting.
Today has got to be the first day of spring here in Devon, I got up early went into town had a yummy healthy lunch at River Cottage Canteen, people watched and soaked up the sun with the much needed vitamin D, I cleared out my closet took stuff up charity shop, attempted to get eyebrows and eyelashes dyed but had a patch test instead (will get this done in the next few days), and took some stuff up to the local auction house for valuation. All in all a fine day and for once I feel great. I am now sat looking out onto the open countryside with the sun streaming in my window feeling very much alive and kicking.
Good luck to all the ladies taking the leap on the marriage front.
Happy Birthday Supertrooper, and welldone on that new job.
Happy birthday supertrooper x
Been checking my drain all day as im post op day 2 and praying it can be removed tomorow… not looking good at min boo ! hopefully a more exciting day for me tomorrow cant get any less exciting wouldnt have thought
I bought my Fat Cat a new scratch post and blanket today as it is her 13th Birthday tomorrow. So far the scratch post is being ignored but I live in hope she will get the urge to have a good look at it.
Hat off to you Choccie for wanting to commit again. I should have put my wedding dress in the paper a few years after I said I do in the “once worn by mistake” column.
Happy Birthday to all of you 29th of February ladies.
Hi Choccie ,well done on taking the leap lol.Hope you are lucky this time. x
Supertrouper,Happy Birthday and well done on your new job.
I got my first ever race for life pack through today so really excited .Going to do it in Hull ,my t shirt came too so had to give it a try.My sister did it last year when i got diagnosed and i had just had my first chemo and i cried all day because i missed it so it means a lot to be by her side this year ,although i won’t be running it like she did.Ive said i was going to do it for many years but never have so this year i am .
Hope everyones had a good day xxx
I have just been at work, but have been thinking that this is the second leap day since my original dx (my first since recurrence) so i am just glad to be here to see it!
Happy birthday supertrouper, and congratulations tillybob.
As expected (and much to my relief!) I got “that’ll be the same answer as last time you asked”. Asking had to be done, and answer not in the slightest bit unexpected. I think they would have had to call an ambulance if he’d said yes!
Put on a nice blouse, went to the airport, met a fine young man, took him to the pub, gave him some lunch, got him in my car… are you still believing any of this, hahaha…, was so pleased to get to the station in time for his train that I clean forgot to ask if he already had a mother-in-law.
