2nd surgery after lumpectomy to remove lymph node

Hello

About to go for surgery again and just wondered if anyone on here has experienced a similar second surgery situation and can tell me whether the recovery time would be quicker.  I had a lumpectomy 5 weeks ago to remove 2 invasive lobular tumours in my left breast along with a full node clearance as the biopsy I had when I had a call back from a routine mammogram showed a cancerous lymph node.  Fortunately the other lymph nodes were negative but unfortunately the surgeon left the cancerous one in so I have to go back to have this removed.  I only get so much sick leave from work so keen to understand how this operation will affect me.  I took 4 weeks off last time - I could have gone back after 3 as that was when I stopped taking the pain meds and could go a full day without napping!  I’m planning on taking a week off to recover this time but wonder if I’m being too ambitious!  Has anyone had any similar experiences that they can advise on?  On another (scary) note, I’ve now had a swollen gland on my right side of my neck for a few days and am suffering from really savage night sweats so panicking about this cancerous lymph node that is still in me

I don’t have similar experience to share but just responding to send you a bit of support . Sounds like a real rollercoaster of a ride , I hope your second surgery is now done and your team can give you some re-assurance x
