isnt it awful when your just beginning to relax and think it’s all ok and it all seems to be starting again!! I was diagnosed in April 20013 with invasive ductal breast cancer, two nodes involved so had node clearance followed by chemo and then radio therapy. Then had two years of all clear on annual mammo, until this month, they have noticed a " thickening" whatever that means in the same breast that I had lumpectomy. I now have to have a compression exam ( and that sounds wonderful!) and an ultra scan. I have this awful sense of da ja vu and really don’t think I can go through it all again, has anyone here had similar? I’m sorry to be such a whinger and I realise some here have been through much worse, but any advise would be really appreciated right now as I can feel myself sinking into despair again
Hi Polly,we are all in that neverending cycle of yearly mammograms and anxiety at the results ,bummer isn’t it !!!There is a good chance it is nothing to worry about and they are just being ultra cautious, good luck hope your "compression " exam is not too horrible .Jill.
Hi Pollyanne, was your cancer er+ and if so did you have tamoxifen.
Hiya pollanne, how are you, any results yet? Your story mirrors mine, diagnosed april 2013, lumpectomy, lump was 11mm, large lump in armpit, wle, 2 nodes positive, chemo, rads, however triple negative so no ongoing tratment. Had 3rd yr mammogram on 7th april, now in state of nerves waiting for result. Last year results were back within 9 days, so panicking now as nearly 2 weeks. you know the feeling…worst case scenarios running round my head!
Anyway, good luck…hope both of us get good outcomes…cant face going thru it all again…
Annette. Xx

Brilliant news Butterfly! Cannot get over the wait you have had though, so unfair to take so long but you can put it to bed for another year now!! ??? Xx
