Hiya,

Some of the cancer prognosis websites show quite well how prognosis etc changes over time from dx. It might be worth looking but only if yiu are the type of person who wants to know that kind of thing as you can also scare yourself witless (or a similar rhyming word starting with sh!).

Everybody’s stats are different depending on your own dx. I seem to recall frommine that the first two years were highest risk for me.

I think one of the sites is cancermath but cant really recall, sorry. Am sure someone will.

Meanwhile i would as always suggest asking your bcn or even one of the nurses on here.

Best wishes

Yes, there is Lifemath, adjuvant online and predict NHS and Nottingham Prognostic Index. You could also look at the Cancer Research UK website which very nicely explains staging/grading and prognosis. Your recurrence risk is highest during the first two years, however, the risk of recurrence is never eliminated and even after 5, 10 or 20 years, it can come back. I would recommend to speak with your medical team to fully understand your circumstances or ring the helpline! Good luck. X

I had a little play on Lifemath but a couple of their tools don’t even mention HER2 status, and I couldn’t understand the results anyway (more stats and we’ve seen what a mess stats can cause!) so I just looked at the graph and admired the colours…

My medical team used adjuvant online to convince me of the benefits of Chemo but put the statistics into context by taking my path report into consideration alongside, but they asked how much I wanted to know. It’s a very personal decision. X
