4cm Cyst in 17 year-old

Hello! I’m a 17 year-old girl and I just got my test results from the ultrasound that I have a 4cm by 4cm cyst on my left breast. My doctor said I could either get it surgically removed or wait 6 months and do another ultrasound to see what kind of cyst it is (my doctor also said it’s a nice cyst so hopefully it is safe). The cyst doesn’t hurt unless I touch it but it’s very prominent to feel. It definitely grew by a lot as well. I’ve had it for over 5 months but never realized it because it was small and I thought it was my breast tissue or something (I’m only 17 so I’ve only started having breasts recently). My father passed away from colon cancer and my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer but is a survivor. Other family members also have cancer so it’s strong in the genes. I’m not sure whether I should get it surgically removed or wait. If I wait to get the ultrasound, I’d already be starting university but if I remove it, it will be the summer before university. It’s also at the top part of my breast so if I wear a bathing suit, the scar would show. I’m not sure how serious this cyst would be and whether it is cancer. Please leave a reply below if you’d like to discuss what I should do and I’d truly appreciate it.
