I’m 44 and felt a soft painful lump in my breast. Saw my GP a week ago who thought it was not suspicious but referred me to the Breast clinic to be sure. Had my appointment yesterday and the mammogram and ultrasound showed that the tender area was fine…normal. They did however see an area of calcification. Had biopsies today and get the results next week. I’m completely in shock! So glad I saw my GP thpugh and she referred me on. I am scared, and feel so unprepared for coping with the next week. It’s hard not to be pessimistic!

Hi there, welcome to the waiting room! There’s a few of us (look at other recent threads) waiting for biopsy results next week. I have microcalcificaciones - 3 “suspicious” clusters and also a lump, i had 13 samples taken from both during 2 procedures on 3rd Dec. I can tell you it’s felt like forever waiting! I’m back at the hospital on 4th Jan. Do you know if biopsies were taken of the lump too whilst they were doing the calcifications? Good luck to you next week… (and to all of us waiting…) x

Hi there. Thanks for your response. It feels like forever but it’s only been a week for me. They took about 9 samples from the cluster of calcifications. I just got a call to say I’ve got an appointment tomorrow at 2pm for the results. Feel very lucky to be seen so quickly. I’ve been fine over Chrustmas, didn’t have time to think about it really but it’s all quieten end down now. How was your Christmas?

Hi there. Appointment was cancelled today as histology results aren’t back. It’s rescheduled for Tuesday. Crazy thing is I’m relieved!! Loads of family coming for New Year and wasn’t sure how I’d manage it if I got bad news. So, back in the waiting room with you guys!! Thinking of you all xx

I’m joining this waiting room too. I had surgery on 2nd December and have an appointment on 5th January for path results. 5 weeks wait due to holidays! I could have had the results yesterday but my plan wouldn’t have been discussed so I would need to return in January anyway. Like Nic I am spending new year with family so decided I didn’t want to deal with half the answer to my next treatment or with possible bad news. I always need time to work things out on my own first.
So I’ll wish all of us in the waiting room a positive outcome for 2016.

Well, I have an update. Got a call from my consultant at 4.45pm today, with good news!!! All ok, benign changes, have cried and laughed and am feeling completely blessed!! Out of the waiting room and back to reality. I will be thinking of you all over the next week. Lots of love to you. Xxxx
