A couple of questions please

hello, please can you tell me how long dose the chemo last in the body,? hopefully its getting flushed with all this water.

I would also like to know if I am safe to visit a very poorly friend on palliative care, she is 70 and had pluracy aprox 20 years ago, now breathing problems, bed ridden, weak, lost weight, only taking in liquid food drinks, low immunity, I’m realy afraid of losing my best friend and not having the chance to see her before its too late, are there any precautions I can take to protect us both?

if I was you I would go and hold her hand and say what a great friend she has always been and how much you love her. If you are feeling well enough. My mother has just died and I couldn’t go because the home had a norovirus outbreak. I know I shall regret not going to see her in her last week.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
I felt the same way when my dad died - it was during COVID and we weren’t allowed into the nursing home.
Sending you a hug. X

I think you will be fine to visit. Maybe ask the staff looking after your friend if there’s anything you should do. Xx

Hello cruising

Thanks for posting.

Its understandable you want to see you friend as she approaches the end of life. I imagine its important to you both to have a visit.

As @jayesse and @seagulls say they were unable to visit their parents, and this is a really difficult.

Also, as @jayesse says you could ask your those looking after your friend as well as you own team if there is anything you need to consider. I imagine both will say its fine to go and see her but at least you know for sure.

The amount of time chemo stays in your body depends on the drugs it can be anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. It sounds like you are well hydrated.
