Hiya did i
What a shock for you but we all have been devasted with dx of secondaries and screamed shouted and ranted but we have been dealt this blow and being women …just get on with it.
You should be given lots of info on FEC chemo …it’s one of the little tinkers that most times …your hair goes but there is the cold cap option .
It’s always better to keep a daily diary and then you can plan your life around the treatment. You will get good and bad days . I suggest you look on the chemo threads and try to find a chemo buddy to exchange good and bad side effects.
We are always here for you on the secondary threads as well …

Hi didi

Glad you now have a plan in place, I think it helps us feel more in control and also know that something is being done to attack the little uggers. Quite a few of us will have had FEC with primary BC therefore there’s not many secondary ladies having it at the moment. As Carolyn says you can check out the Treatments/Chemo section of the main forum to get some info or chat to other, primary, ladies having it at the same time. Otherwise we can help out here of course.

I had FEC in 2008 when I was dx with secondaries. I’d say it’s do able and I certainly had more good days per 3 week cycle than I had bad days. Take all the anti nausea tablets they give you, they do help! I lost my hair, but it grew back, however you can ask about having the cold cap, as Carolyn has said.

Alos don’t stress about the word ‘palliative’ being used! It means it can’t be cured rather than the usual way you imagine it! And, yes, you can feel perfectly well with liver mets! I’ve had them for 3 years now and chemo plus follow on treatments have reduced them so my liver is in a better state than it was 3 years ago.
