Hi, a friend told me the story of a fellow “school mum” this afternoon. It filled me with hope and I wanted to share it in the hope it will do the same for others. It’s not actually breast cancer but lung cancer, but still relevant to us of course. Around six years ago the lady in question was diagnosed in her early 40s with stage 4 lung cancer, and given 6 months to live. She resigned herself to the end. However a friend found a cancer trial that was specific to her particular cancer. Six years on she takes one pill a day and continues to live her life, no chemo or other drugs, just this one little pill that keeps her going. When it does stop working, she still has a plethora of options and of course every year new treatments are evolving. I used to say hi to this lovely lady every morning but didn’t realise her story was so profound. A little sparkle of hope and light xxx

No, sorry, not a clue.
Aw that’s lovely I’m a community nurse I see a lot of people who have been given a few months to live we start going on to offer palliative support but we end up taking them off as they do well and go past their few months diagnosis which is lovely to see xx
