Just thought I’d mention that when we saw my Mum’s oncologist today for the first time he has decided to put her on Letrosole. He then mentioned adjuvant cyclib therapy. I said oh palcocyclib? He said no in the last couple of weeks Abemacyclib has come to the NHS. Similar in many respects but taken continuously and possibly kinder to white blood cells and bone marrow.
Thought I’d mention just in case it’s new news for anyone.
Mum is stage 4 de novo. Three lung nodules.
Glad you got some answers hopefully treatment is effective and if kinder on WCC that is good X liz
Thanks for posting this. I’ve been for scan results today, all stable and NED, huge relief and no change to my treatment, but I asked my Onc about Abemaciclib as I’d also read something about it on line and have previously discussed Palbociclib not being an option for me going forward as only available for first line treatment. Anyway, she assured me that unlike Palbociclib, Abemaciclib is available for second, third, line treatment and beyond. Apologies if this has been posted already but it wasn’t clear to me who qualified for it! Hope your mum is doing well Julie, Kate x
