Abnormal liver test results

Hi,
I am just wondering if anyone can help, or has been through same thing! I keep on getting abnormal blood test results, and it just gets more and more worrying. I had large stage 3, grade 3, triple neg cancer diagnosed 2 years ago, and underwent usual treament. Expected blood tests to be elevated after chemo etc, but in last 3 months my ALT/SGPT has almost doubled from 140 to 230. Should be less than 40.
Also high alk phosphate at 149.
Last quarter my bone profile was also raised but this has settled to within normal limits again, but I am worried about liver. I had u/sound which was clear in July, but figures haven’t stopped shooting up.
Do I sound paranoid?! That’s probably because I am! That’s what this wretched disease turns you into I think.
I would be grateful if anyone gone through same thing, and if you think I should insist on another u/sound. My cancer had spread to most of lymph nodes as well, so I think I am allowed to worry a bit.
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Jax

Hi Jax

What does your oncologist say - its now 6 months plus from july? Personally I would ask for a CT scan now…there could be other reasons for this but you rill not have peace of mind unless you have a full investigation and that is more than an ultrasound,
take care
Cathy

Thank you Lucy, and thanks Cathy. I am due to see my GP next week, so wil talk it over with her then. I should make an appointment with my oncologist, but I always feel so intimidated by him for some reason, as if anything I mention is petty!!
I have just asked my BCN if I can speak to her as well, so hopefully I will get it sorted!
Best wishes,
Jax

Hi Jax
If your worried, you should ask for a ct or mri scan to liver, my liver mets were discovered by abnormal LFT bloods, onc left it a month after initial test to see if they settled, when they didnt he sent me for ct, mri and bone scan.
Hope all goes well for you

Thanks Sue,
I have app on Monday am with breast care nurse, and I expect that she will say same. Sometimes, I am so fed up with doctors, appointments and worry, that I feel like never going back and just letting nature take its course? Does that sound terrible? Especially when I hear of so many wonderful women on this site who go thru’ the hell of chemo again and again and again, and I wonder if I am that strong?
I have had a rotten year stuck lying at home with severe back problems, and operations that don’t work, and every time worrying that it is cancer returning. Then of course there is the joy of lymphodema, made worse by walking with crutches! To think that when I was diagnosed I felt so well. I would love to be able to just walk away from the whole ‘sickness’ thing. But I guess I can’t, so that’s that! I have wonderful support, so I really cannot complain.
Sorry about that, for a minute I slipped into my own private pity party!!
