Hi,
My name is Selma. I am 62 years old. I am diagnosed with Grade 2 breast cancer on my left side (ER 5/8, PR 3/8. HER2 3+, 41mm on maximum dimension). I am going to start my first chemo treatment on Friday 14th of May. Doctors told me I will be getting AC every 2 weeks for 8 weeks (4 times). I understand AC is one of the heaviest ones and I am trying to understand what kind of side effects I will get and how to cope with them.
Can you share with me how you felt after your AC treatment? What kind of side effects did you have? Is there any suggestions you can give for me to avoid/prevent any side effects? I am worried that I won’t be able to handle the side effects given my age and my on the weak side heart.
Hope I will get a reply before my chemo starts.
Thank you all!
Hi Selma , welcome to the forum . I didn’t have chemo so I can’t answer your questions myself but hopefully someone who had the same treatment will respond .There is a thread for those starting chemo this month maybe you could join the ladies there for some support and tips , some may be having the same treatment ? Hopefully you will also get some replies here.
Good luck with your treatment I hope chemo treats you kindly .
Best wishes Jill x
@Selma59 - I just read your post and wanted to wish you all the best for your first chemo tomorrow. You might want to search on the forum to see previous threads about AC - I had FEC and T, so can answer any general chemo queries if that helps. It doesn’t look like so many people have AC from my quick search, but you might find some answers if you go to the search box and search “all the forum” rather than just this board. Very best wishes and hugs, Evie xx
