Activity after surgery
Activity after surgery Hi have posted a question on the reconstructive Surgery forum but got no replies and thought that someone on this forum might just have had reconstruction some time ago and be able to help me.
Does anybody know anybody who has had reconstruction using implants and then gone back to climbing, rowing or any other activity where pectoral muscles are important.?
Or has anyone had difficultes with these activities after radiotherapy?
Please try and reply if you can help at all, really neeed to know and medics can’t help.
Rowing! This is only a half story I’m afraid but it’s maybe better than nothing!
When researching into what yoga positions I could do without giving myself lymphoedema I found a website that mentioned some research somebody had done involving bc survivors who did rowing competitively. There seems to have been very little proper research done on the subject of lymphoedema but my opinion is that if you wait until you have healed completely and are mindful of what your body tells you, you can do an awful lot more that you think!
Sorry, but I can’t remember where I read this stuff but if you type “lymphoedema” and “rowing” or some such, in to Google then you might come up with something!
Sorry not to be more of a help. I hope you find some information that puts your mind at rest. (I found no real helpful info about yoga either)
Best Wishes.
thanks Chalee thanks for replying - I think you mean the dragonboat racing- I had contacted people locally with no luck but I will now post a query on their other sites.
