Acupuncture for aches and pains

Does anybody have experience of using acupuncture to help with Arimidex aches? I’m just so sick of feeling like this! (Still glad to be able to take Arimidex though!) Today a friend suggested acupuncture, what do you reckon? x

Hi Chalee

I have just (last week) been diagnosed with secondaries in my bones and have not yet found out what treatment is in store for me but have in the back of my mind that I would try acupuncture for pain relief. I did have a bad back injury six years ago unrelated to cancer (prior to diagnosis) and had acupuncture for pain relief. It was fantastic and really helped so could recommend it on that level - don’t know if that helps?

Thanks for your comments angee. So sorry that you have been diagnosed with mets. I will give acupuncture a try, I hope it works for you in your present situation.

I have just spent the weekend with two old schoolfriends both of whom were moaning on about their aches and pains (we are all the same age). So now I don’t feel so bad, looks like everybody is suffering!

Best wishes angee, xx

hi Chalee and Angee,
my other half has just rang me to say that bbc radio manchester are funding a study to test the effects of accupuncture on pain in breast cancer patients and they are lookin for 200 volunteers to take part!!! I had accupuncture in my ears 2 years ago, it was actually part of a ‘give up smokin campaign’ although i dont smoke i felt so relaxed after the sessions and would reccomend you have it, it doesnt hurt at all which i thought it would!! Im havin my first chemo session at Christies tomorrow and im so going to ask about accupuncture for side effects of nausea and if they offer it im going to have it.

Good luck and best wishes Jill xx
