Hi
Can anyone shed light on the TYPE of treatment I had i.e. 2nd generation? 3rd generation? Also whether or not the drugs were anthracyclines?
I had 4 x FEC and then 4 x Taxotere.
Thanks

Hi Dahlia
Please feel free to call our helpline on 0808 800 6000 weekdays 9am-5pm and Sat 9m-2pm, or you may prefer to use the ‘Ask the Nurse’ email service which you can access via the homepage for further information about the treatments you have had.
Best wishes

Hi Lucy
Thank you, I have placed a call with your help line.
Hi Dahlia.
What did the helpline say? and what is the significance of the answers you got? I only ask because I am intrigued and I had the same chemo regime as you.

Hi D
I had 4 x fec 4 x tax and my Onc identified it as 3rd generation when doing my adjuvant online stats
The Epirubicin element of the FEC is an athracycline - hope this helps

what is the significance of the ‘generation’ please?
If you go onto the adjuvant online site, which give survival stats for different treatments, the chemos are largely defined by what generation they are. The site is for doctors, but many of us on here have registered on the site, pretending to be doctors, so we can see the stats for ourselves (my onc does not seem to use the site so to find out my stats I needed to go on there myself). If you enter basic details about yourself, your lump etc & your treatment regime, it will show the 10 year survival rates
What was the answer and how did they say they are going to cure adjuvant therapy. I am in the 1st stage and wanted to know if I this is the correct stage to get operated. I am presently following
womenhealthzone.com/tests-and-treatments/adjuvant-therapy-what-is-it for information related to Adjuvant therapy, it is so helpful.
