Advice for taking Tamoxifen?

Hi I am shortly to start taking Tamoxifen for 10 years (eek!!).  I was wondering does anyone have any advise on what time of day is best to take it?  Morning, evening, bedtime?  With food, without food?  Any tips would be gratefully received.

Hi there, I take mine in the evening , before bed, I have been on it for 4 years now…

Thanks ladies, I’ll try evenings then.   Bit nervous about starting them, do you suffer many side effects?

I take mine in the morning with breakfast as advised by my Breast Care Nurse. I’ve been on it for 6 weeks and have not noticed any side effects. Xxx

I have been on it now for 2 years, I take it in the morning around 9am which is when I have my fruit and yoghurt at work.  I get a flush about an hour afterwards which is “tropical” but does not last long.  Some days I have a couple thoughout the day.  I have had occasional aches but I dont necesarily think it is the tamo and probably more to do with the fact that I am getting older.  I do also get an very occasional cramp in my right leg when I am in bed which is a bit uncomfortable but again it is not all the time.

When I first started taking it I was a little anxious for about a month but it passed after that.

Hi
I started taking it last week. I take it in the morning and have had nausea, tiredness and cold chills since Saturday. Hopefully these will settle down.

I think it may be the brand, though, as I’m currently taking Relonchem but got given Teva, which is supposed to be better, this morning by my pharmacy.
