Advice on bras and compression bodysuits for post breast lipomodelling

Hi,

Can anyone offer advice on the most comfortable bra and compression garment to wear after breast lipomodelling? I had a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy last year and this coming August, I’ll be having reconstructive lipomodelling (fat transfer from stomach to breast).

The irradiated areas around my breast and chest wall are still very tender (I can’t hug without wincing). Hence, I want to find the most comfortable bra and compression suit, especially as I’ll be living and sleeping in them for six weeks. My surgeon advised a shock absorber sports bra that clasps at the back with a cross your heart structure to help mould the transferred fat into a breast shape. My only concern is that the clasp might dig in as I’ll be sleeping on my back and wondered if anyone can offer advice on the make and type of bra that they used?

As for the compression garment, I bought a SKIMS bodysuit with an open bust and although I find it comfortable, the process of getting it on and off is a marathon (I swear it’s no bigger than a baby suit). How I’m supposed to tackle this after surgery I don’t know… So, has anyone got any suggestions on what they wore?

I’ve been researching MACOM liposuction garments with front fastening hook and eyes. However, they look pretty bulky and are expensive (I’ll need at least two). But regardless of the cost, comfort and support are my main priorities and any advice from those who have gone through breast lipomodelling would be so appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Hi @Fifo

My situation is not quite the same: I had mammoplasty post wide excision with some scarring and lymphoedema. I bought longline crop/sports bras ( no fasteners) and wore them day and night, very comfortable with good effect.

Then my physio ordered me a comfiwave breast band, from Haddenahm Heath care. I wear this at night and the sports bras by day with a lymph pad insert. The lymphoedema has settled and the scarring even softening.

i hope you find something to help!

Hi Jani62,

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and for the info, I very much appreciate it. The longline sports bra is something I hadn’t considered, but sounds a good option for sleeping. I’m off to explore it now ?

Many thanks again,

Fifo
