i am new to this, worried and extremely anxious and am awaiting an appointment at the hospital on weds.i’m 46 I found a lump on my right breast close to the nipple outside area . It’s is hard and about 1 cm wide . I can’t see it from looking at my breast and no skin issues . Can’t say how long it’s been there . About 3 yrs ago I went and had a cyst on the left breast and was fine . The consultant said I would be prone to cysts especially as I approach the menopause . I am worried about movable and non movable because this one I can move about an inch but not sure how far they are supposed to move if it’s a cyst ?but then I do have fairly small breasts. It’s not painful either so seems to point towards the cancer side ? Can anyone give me some advice …
Inevitably you will worry whilst waiting, we all do.
But thank goodness you’ve got a clinic appointment to get it sorted out.
It really is not possible to tell what it is by feeling it or how moveable it is, but the good news is any breast change mostly turns out Not to be bc. If on the off chance it is, then the sooner it gets dealt with the better.
Easier said than done, but it can help with the wait to carry on as normal, keep yourself distracted & avoid the temptation to Google, as this can only generate a whole shed load of anxiety, which changes nothing.
If you need info, then use the main bcc site here, or come back & chat if you want to.
Let us know how you get on, if you look at other posts here, you will see that the vast majority of women who report back, turn out not to have bc.
Try not to think beyond the appointment Juju, one step at a time & hopefully all will be well anyway. It usually is.
Waiting is always horrible, but you’ll get there.
