Advice

Hi,

I am 50 and recently notice a mark under my left breast, it’s about 2 cm’s across and looks like it has been pulled in slightly.  I have seen my doc and she said she could feel a small lump, (I didn’t feel the lump) was referred and had a scan and a mammogram which where clear.  Before the mammogram I found two small lumps.  They are near to my armpit but not in the armpit.  The easiest way I can think to describe ther position is if I lift my arm horizontal they are about 1 cm from the pit.  The consultant is saw said they were nothing.  I am very worried about the lumps and have a horrid feeling that something isn’t right.  I am not normally concerned as I respect the work the NHS do and would usually take what I have been told and get on with thing, but I can’t get this niggling feeling out of my head.  Can anyone offer me any insight as to what the lumps could be and if I should go back to my doctors or just accept everything is ok.

Hi Diane, sorry I can’t offer any insight as to what the cause of the lumps might be, but I would say that if you have that gut feeling that something isn’t right then go back to your GP. Either it is something that needs catching asap, or it isn’t anything and you’ll avoid driving yourself mad with worry.

Good luck and let us know how you get on x
