After effects of Taxotare
After effects of Taxotare Hi Everyone
Just wanted some advise. Have finished chemo FEC and Taxotare, last one on 1/2/07. Still suffering some side effects and wondering how long they will go on for.
-
Still having problems tasting food. My taste buds come and go. It has been 6 weeks sine last chemo so I had hpoed it would be better by now.
-
Getting these sweats day and night. Not hot flushes but sweats that I feel on my forehead and at the back of my head.
-
My head feels foggy a lot of the time. Not a headache as such and I some times mix up my words or say the wrong word. This has only happened since finishing chemo.
I am still doing rads, another 6 to go, and have done 4 Heceptins. I don;t know if any of the above are made worse by the fact I am still having active treatment.
Any pearls of wisdom would be great. I had hoped by now to be over the worst of the side effects by now. I go back to work in five weeks so becoming a l;ittle worried.

I had sweats like that but was told it was the change and not the Taxol(didn’t beleave them)They lasted 3/4 mths. Also had ‘chemo head’.The fog didn’t last very long but getting the right word out took longer.I was alright writing letters just not so sharp when I opened my mouth! My taste buds never really went,Just certain foods made me feel nauseaus.I remember feeling really hungry at the hospital after the canteen had closed so I made do with a prepacked flapjack …it made me feel sooo bad that I’ll never have one again - I can still taste it now!
TAX SIDE EFFECTS I HAD MY LAST DOSE ON 9TH MARCH AND AM STILL FEELINGH GROGGY, NO GET UP AND GO, THE ACHES AND PAINS HAVE GONE INTO A 2ND WEEK AND THE RUNNY NOSE WEEK HAS BEGUN. TODAY I HAVE SPENT ALL DAY DOZING ON AND OFF. I GO BACK TO WORK IN 2 WEEKS P/T SO AM HOPING FOR AN IMPROVEMENT.
