After op - warning an image of surgery

Well the good news is no cancer in the lymph.

Breast seems to be healing ok.  Just taken plaster off after 4 days, but decided to put lint pad and tape over just to protect it.

The underarm wound, I’ve not taken plaster off yet, a little concerned there is some swelling and puffy pocket under arm.  Not sure if this can wait till Tuesday when I can phone breast clinic or if I should go to the walk in centre (I have attached a coup of picks) it may look worse than it is I don’t know, would appreciate any input.

Just felt very tired and wounded after op, but generally the anaesthetic was not too bad.  I think feeling better as each day passes but just a bit concerned about the under arm.

The blue on the breast is dye.

For results of tumour analysis and any ongoing treat not known until I go back on 6th September.

Hi Astra

Glad to hear you are doing OK. The wound issue is a bit difficult to decide on, but if you are at all worried it may be better to go to the Walk In centre. They can either reassure you that it is nothing to cause concern or recommend a course of action. I did not have a separate wound under the arm, as my lump was at the top of my breast and they were able to remove the lymph nodes from the same incision. Good news that cancer had not spread to lymph nodes. You now just have to wait for your pathology report to see how clear the margins are.

Best wishes.
