Hi
I’ve had a lumpectomy reduction and reconstruction. I’ve just heard that my results are not back so I have to wait longer for them which is agony
. Also the results need to be discussed in a MDT meeting, does every pathology result clear or bad get discussed at the meeting? I’m so scared and worried
I think all the results go through mdt meeting
Fingers crossed for yours
Xx
Thank you ![]()
@gaw1
I know it may seem silly to wait for the weekly MDT meeting but it’s definitely worth it as a team of doctors, nurses, surgeons, pathologists and pharmacists attend these meetings. They will discuss each patient at length and decide between them which is the best course of action.
Hope this helps xxx
Hi gaw1
Thanks for your post.
It’s understandable you feel scared and worried whilst waiting for your results. It’s not uncommon to have to wait longer for results than expected.
When your treatment team has all the information from your tests and pathology results from surgery they will discuss at a multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT) and prepare an update and treatment plan to discuss with you as soon as possible. As @chillout365 says it’s normal for all results to go through an MDT meeting.
Most people do feel anxious whist waiting and the waiting period can feel long. Speaking with your breast nurse may help to support you during this time and discuss timelines for your results appointment.
