When my surgeon came around to check wound after op, i had so many questions i wanted to ask, i asked her how many lymph nodes she removed, her answer was, i really dont know i have done so many ops today, she had someone with her who said to me i think it might have been 3, she then said we will discuss it all with you in 2 weeks whrn results are in, although it wont be me your seeing im on holiday, i didnt ask anything else, i kind of felt like a number, anyone else feel like this
Yes, sadly there seems to be so many of us going through this that the personal touch has been lost. My surgeon didn’t even come to see me after, just the anaesthetist. When I asked why my nipple was so sore, she said that that had been removed and then sewn back again as the lump was bigger than they thought. Would have been nice to be told!
Don’t take it personally. Its not really worth getting upset over. Concentrate on your recovery and prepare a list of questions for your next meeting.
Debbie sorry that you have felt so unsupported in hospital. As sue says so many of us are going through this but it’s a shame that the personal touch has been lost.
